I am always getting separated from my bags because of the scanner I need to go through because of my love bracelets. My bag is always sitting there solo on the other side of security for at least 2-3 min.

When I carry my beater Prada saffiano tote (my work bag), I am less concerned. I face it down so you can’t see the logo and it looks like a plain black tote. The birkin and Kelly are more recognizable, especially with the turnlock. If you travel with your B or K, what do you do with it in security?

I usually put it in the bucket with the turnlock facing down. I think it is less recognizable with only the back of the bag facing up. Putting it inside a larger more casual bag would also work.

When I travel with my Kelly or Birkin, I usually either have it inside my carry on or my Goyard Artois or LV Neverfull tote. I don't generally carry the bag on its on through security. I'm also generally wearing a smaller crossbody, like my Halzan or KTG that comes off and also put in the tote or carry on, to go through the scanners.

If I travel with an H bag (usually domestically) I make sure it’s fully fastened and I put it inside a non-H drawstring bag or anonymous foldable tote inside the bin. I usually have three bins going through (one for my handbag, one for my main carry on and a third if required for tech, 3-1-1 bag, shawl etc) and I put the bin with the handbag in between the other two. I’m sure it’s just me but for some reason I feel like the bag is less likely to be noticed by others if it’s not in a bin sitting right next to their things. But generally I avoid travelling with a bag that gives me that degree of security concern. It’s not just the bag - my phone etc is also in there and I wouldn’t want the extreme inconvenience of my phone or other valuables/documents being stolen because someone was targeting my bag.
