Do you think diamond studs are appropriate for daytime?

I'm so not appropriate then! I have about 2 carats total in each ear {2 holes/ear} and am hoping to upgrade soon, and between the tennis bracelet and diamond bezel watch, I have about 7 more on my arm, not to mention the 2 rings I wear everyday.
I wear these as 'staples' all day everyday, everywhere, even the gym:yes:
I don't think there's really 'rules' anymore, I see local mom's women all wearing the same things I wear on a daily basis as well.

Wow, you're fully iced!;)

Exactly. You're going with your community standards, and if that's what everyone else is doing, it's certainly fine.

Where I am, there's a lot less bling, but lots of people wear diamond studs during the day. (Including a 300+ lb hip hop guy I saw at the grocery store earlier today!)

if they are small and tasteful I think they are fine. hell, depending on where you are at during the day, they are fine. it depends on the circumstances in my book:

ie; having lunch with the gals :rochard:

getting a spleen-ectomy :yucky:

shopping with a friend, visiting your OB-GYN:happydance:

working at a construction site :weird:

i think studs are always classic and appropriate as long as each individual stud is under a full carat...bcuz at a point it looks for lack of a better word very hoity toity, sorry i'm about to go to bed.

I've heard about the 5-6pm rule too, but I think that is passe overall. I agree diamond studs are appropriate during the day. Although, I think too much bling-bling during the day especially at a casual thing is probably much. Makes it look like you're bringing out the "artillery" out, so to speak, too early in the day. :p

All of my old etiquette and style books say exactly the same thing about diamonds before dark, but I believe that's an old way of thinking. My dentist wears 2 carats in each ear on a daily basis, and honestly, her earrings are so darn big, I'm sure many people think they're fake (they're not though! Her grandmother loved jewelry and also left her an amazing 7 carat diamond ring!)

Another friend, a tPF member in fact, wears her 1.5 carats in each ear and they complement her elegant, refined, and very stylish look. Diamond studs look great during the day. just stay away from the dangly earrings until evening.

Oh my...coco-nut...is that me?:shame: Thanks for the compliment if it is.
I do love my diamond studs and feel they are a very classy, understated look.

LOL! If you can't wear diamonds or pearls in the daytime, then what are you supposed to wear? Nothing? Plastic? Beads? Just plain gold or silver studs?

Of course, if you are talking about a really elaborate piece of jewelry that is screamingly a formal piece, then of course, save it for the evening, but I mean, simple, classy pieces are meant to be shown off!

*starts singing* "Diamonds on my neck di-diamonds on my grill" :D
