Yes, I remove everything. An older, European jeweler in our neighborhood told me when I was a teen-ager to stop sleeping in my 14K gold necklace. I kept stretching out the chain. I do sleep with my running watch on so I can press the light to see what time it is if and when I wake up during the night. :p

Oy! That is awful! My friends and family found it hysterical...Took DH a while to be able to laugh about it!

Your story reminded me of a friend of mine who dropped her engagement ring inside the food disposal, she didnt realise until she switched it on, and heard the screeching sound that it was gone.

When I get home I take all of my rings and bracelets off. I will sleep with my necklace but it also does depend on which one. Lately I have to take off my earrings before going to bed.

LV, Shanam and Champaign or anyone else who would care to answer this, and i did not mention your name..

When bathing, showering or washing your hair with your jewelry on, do you not worry about the possibility of the jewelry being ruined by soaps or shampoos ?

oops. Sorry didn't see this before. :shame: Well, my rings and earrings are diamonds and platinum, so in a theoretic sense I can't believe soap and water could hurt them. I'm sure soap scum won't enhance their beauty, but I shouldn't think it would do permanent harm (I hope). From what I've read, the soap and water is not good for my white gold necklace, and I guess I should take that off, but, ugh, I hate snarled chains. For the record, I don't leave my earrings in when I wash my hair, and if I'm wearing a shower cap, the earrings are inside it--so dry.
