Hmmm, I think I've heard this but *I* never see any of these bags on the shelves unless they are huge travel sizes.
I must say, my heart skips everytime I look at your avatar, fopduck! TDFTDFTDFTDTDF!

Here is a thread comparing the 35cm Birkin and 32cm HAC. It also has pictures of Shopmom's HAC and shows what she can fit in the bag. I think it would be a good travel bag.

Thanks for this, dianagrace! And shopmom, if you're reading this, I ADORE your HAC! It's simply beautiful.

I think now my perfect in-flight and general purpose bag could be either the 32 HAC or the 35 Birkin. Now, if I can only find one...

Hi fopduck! We are about the same size and I prefer the 30cm. The 35cm doesn't look weird on me though.

Since we both are Passy GM fans :) I must say however that if you want the same amount of space and flexibility, get the 35cm. The space is comparable to my mom's 35cm albeit with slightly different dimensions.

I love the 35cm size, I had a 30cm (twice) but it did not hold enough. I have learned to clear out my 35cm weekly of the unnecessary buildup and I can mangage it very easily.

I like the look of the Passy GM, but I've heard that Epi has a tendency to peel. Is Epi durable ?

Thanks !!

I am not sure about the new generation of the Epi leather but I have a Epi Noe that is almost 10 years old and it looks flawless. My experiences with Epi - very durable, doesn't show wear and tear easily, and easy to clean. The only negative thing that I have noticed is that sometimes you can get these white streaks on the leather when you rub against a wall.. almost like paint? HTH! :flowers:

GT - Thanks! At this rate, I am beginning to think that the Kelly will be my only H bag. I have yet to see ANY birkin on the shelf.. besides a 40cm :push:

KB - I try to tell myself it's all a matter of time.. but I am beginning to despair!

I think at this point, I am willing to to take a 30, 35, or 32 HAC! As long as it's the right color... I actually wouldn't mind having all 3 sizes! :roflmfao: But at this rate, I may be the 80 yr old granny walking down the street with my birkin - you can bet that by then, I would carry one on each arm!!

Fopduck......I'm in the same boat. It's very, very rare that we see ANY Birkins on the shelf in San Fran. I have only just decided that on my next trip in the store, I'll bring the subject up with my SA and make him put my name down on the LIST! I think if you haven't done this yet, you should. Give him/her a selection of colors/leathers you would take and then sit back and see what happens. Actually, I don't even know if they HAVE a list......they must have something though. :shrugs:

fopduck, you purchased your Kelly from a SA? If so, have you already asked about getting a Birkin?

I have only seen that SA once since I bought my Kelly. I tried chatting with him and he didn't even acknowledge me.. it was really wierd. He was VERY nice and helpful and spent a good hour with me the first time. :shrugs:

I have tried working with Shopmom's SA but I have only bought 1 small item from him and I have asked him a couple of times about a birkin but he is trying to sell me a PB bag! I want a PB bag but I promised my HHH (Hermes Hating Husband) that I won't buy another H bag before the birkin. I am stuck!!!

Any advice?

Can you add me too! See my response above to GT. I have told Jose a couple times but nothing has materialized! Maybe we should go to the store this Saturday and tag team him (that sounded weird)!!

Fopduck...thats a GREAT idea! PM me and lets see what we can manage! Saturday MIGHT be a little problematic but I won't know for sure until tomorrow.....I was very, very good last time I was there. Didn't buy a thing....let Orchids do all the buying and lived vicariously through her!
