I have a 35 and am considering buying one in 30, in a brighter colour. But in your case, since yours is an SO, and u've been waiting for 4 years already, you should hang in there!! It's not that difficult to come by a 30 regular gold Birkin anyway. Good luck!

i would't wait for 35 if you find kelly 32 too small, birkin 30 holds a bit more, but it looks the same size as kelly 32, as seen in the photo of Medusa. I sodl a kelly 32 and a birkin 30 to get kelly 40 and birkin 35. I prefer big bags!

Medusa - what a helpful post - if you haven't already, please would you consider adding these photos to the reference section - they are very useful in this perennial debate!

bgmommy - sorry I can't advise, but I have a Birkin in both sizes - they are very different from each other in personality, you need to see in real life I think. It's very nice to have both sizes - I am a similar size to you I think.

It is such a personal decision. I remember when I was first asking for help with a Birkin and was debating a 25 or 30 (mind you I am 5'7"). Someone here on tpf mentioned I would be good with even a 35. They were right. I won't even consider a Birkin smaller than a 35 now. I have been fortunate enough to see a 30 in person at the boutique, and I can tell you it looked very small on me with my height (more like a lady like purse). Not that there was anything wrong with that. But to me, that is where Kelly fits the bill. Everyone is different.

I would ask your SA to check into your SO. Let her make some calls and find out if it went through, etc. I have heard of box birkins taking a long time, but 4 years seems particularly long for your SO.

Most of my birkins are 35 coz i like the casual look. I normally use my birkins as a casual/ weekend bag. If u want the birkin to be a bit more formal, i would suggest a 30. Both sizes are lovely, depends on your needs. Hope u find what u want. :drinkup:

i am biased but I am a "big"bag girl and considering that I'm quite tall, I can only imagine a 35 Birkin. You seem to also wish for a 35 too... Go with your feeling and Good luck

I had a 32 Retourne Kelly and the 30 Birkin without a doubt holds more .. it is wider from front to back... Regarding the weight ... I guess it depends on if you do a lot of walking... I don't find my 35s (Togo and Chevre) heavy but I don't do a lot of walking. When I go in to the grocery store, for example, I usually take my Karo with iTouch out of my bag. I then have my 35 on my arm throughout my grocery shopping and I have never found it to be all that heavy and I have a lot of small leather goods inside.

As others have said, the 35 and 30 are just very different bags. It really depends on the look you want. I like my Birkins to be sort of floopy and casual, so the 30 just doesn't work for me.

i love my 30 but am planning on my next birkin and was wondering if i would like a 35.

no 25 for me, i want that only in a kelly...
