Do you feel guilty about money spent on designer bags?

I guess one can really feel guilt specially if it's an impulsive buy, however, for me I started my collection through 2nd hands around from friends (who wanted new ones), and when the time came around when i can afford a new one, i started to sell out the 2nds and save up for a bag that i want to get (thus avoiding the impulsive buying and sake of splurging).

I think it could not be categorized as splurging if you give it time to think which bag you really want and which you'd really use. Besides, compared to non-designer bags, (this is purely based on experience) the designers are way sturdy and definitely lasts longer.

Just my two cents on this :)

Happy Holidays everyone!

i felt guilty just thinking about it.. i was thinking, "oh geez, i cant just buy it...it's really high." but then, mister made it very clear that i deserved it and i should treat myself and have something to show for it since i work so hard. he told me to get it before but i never jumped ship because i felt so bad spending so much money. i dont wear make up, i dont drink alot just on occasions , i dont smoke, i dont go out clubbing, i do my own mani/pedi, and all my bills are paid soo.....

i finally made my first LV purchase this past sunday. think it has been one of the best choices i have made on a bag purchase and im so glad i have each one of you to share the excitement with! *squee*

as my OH said to me, it's better to save up money to buy the bag if you really want it. The thing with buying a bag though is for some brands, the price increases every 4 months or so, I don't fancy paying a much higher price for the bag when I can get it at a lower price. True, you don't actually need the bag, but each bag has a different story to match your outfits

Congratulations fabealous!!! Welcome to the LV family!! So which one did you get. I bought my 2nd earlier this week. I've had the Tivoli PM for about a year and I just bought the Vernis Brea MM in Blanc Corail...and of course I just loooooovvveee it:hbeat:

I end up feeling guilty about any purchases for myself, inherited that from my dad. I have $ to spend, and do not mind spending on others (within reason lol). But have trouble justifying purchases for me. I blame that ole frugality gene!

great choice for a first bag and second bag the blanc corail is such a beautiful color! i definitely want the Alma in Rouge for my second bag. Valentine's day is coming up and it would be purrrrrfecct! i better come up with some sort of trickery and sexy time with the boyfriend. hahah! :graucho:

I"m in complete agreement with ACS. Now that I have multiple bags, I'm honestly not sure what to do with them. I don't use a handbag during the week because I have a work tote I put everything in. So that leaves only the weekend, where I'm usually just hanging out in jeans or whatever. I feel kinda silly toting around a nice leather/designer bag when in jeans and sneakers.

you are so right .....same is with me but its like an addiction...just luv nice bags

I just bought a Hayden Hartnett bag that wasn't very spendy, but it's right before Christmas and I was feeling a little guilty. Then, my father sent me a Christmas gift. It was a check for almost exactly 1/2 the amount of the bag, I spent that on Christmas presents for others in my family, so now I don't feel so guilty!
I also made an offer on a bag and a wallet that I have been wanting FOREVER at an online auction site and was feeling a bit guilty, but then I got the opportunity to work a few extra days and that will more than pay for them.
I am working my bag/dosh Karma!!

Never. I buy a bag I can afford to buy. If not, I'll try hard not to obsess over that pretty bag and be amnesic for couple of weeks. Then maybe a budget rethink.. :p
