Just a comment on what you listed that you could get for that $2000 bag ... how about any of this: a new gazebo for the back yard, a good used car to get to work, a color laser printer, a trip to another country (that includes meals and vehicle), a romantic spa weekend getaway, a fur coat, 20 pairs of $100 jeans (if you live in a US state with no tax on clothing.)
:urock:yadda yadda yadda, etc, etc...". I really try my best not to blurt, "Well, I'm not you".
Have you ever wonder why are some bags more xpensive than others?
Just an observation... except for the car, the others are luxuries, as is a purse. I suppose everyone views luxuries differently. Trips are short lived, printers become obsolete these days in about 6 months, jeans wear out, fur coats are good for about 3 months in my part of the country and a gazebo is great if you have a house and spend time outside. For some a purse that price is a life time investment....
I have not bought a $2000 purse myself either ( but I did just spend $4000 on knee surgery for my dog) - but than others would not spend as much as $200 on a purse, ever.
Yes, I agree.... it's all perspective.![]()
You're very wise my dear! I still feel guilty because it's an extravagance! Funny but I never felt this way when it was a gift from my father! When I buy a very costly item (handbag) for myself, I always think twice and usually never regret my decision but can't help but feel a bit of guilt. (It fortunately passes since these purchases are very infrequent.)I don't feel guilty, but I do feel that it is an unnecessary extravagence. I think through each purchase carefully and try to buy only things that will really add value to my life. Nothing is worse than buyer's remorse.
