Nah... I tend to feel happy afterward...verrrry very happy! I love my bags.

Lol...I thought it was hilarious though that you said you feel guilty afterward, because you could spend you money on other things... Jeans, tops, shoes...etc. Haha. I was waiting for you to say that you feel guilty spending that much on a bag cuz you could donate the money to a charity or something along the lines of that. I don't think you should feel guilty at ALL for spending it on a bag instead of other material possesions...lol. If bags are your thing, go for it! I spend a sh!tload of $ on bags and accessories, but tend to buy cheaper clothing because I think it's the little things like bags and jewelry that really bring together and MAKE an outfit! That being said, I buy many of my clothes at thrift shops and stores such as Target! Aaahhhh...LOVE Target!!! :)

I totally agree with this comment and I've been saying it for years. You can buy the cheapest clothes but as soon as you are carrying a great bag (be it high end or not) or shoes/jewelry, it instantly elevates the whole look to another level. If it is the other way around and you have really expensive clothes on but a cheap looking bag or shoes, it makes your whole outfit look cheap.

That being said, I do sometimes feel guilty if I buy a handbag that I've spent a lot of money on and it just sits on the shelf. If I used it all the time, then no, I wouldn't feel guilty even if it cost a small fortune. The whole cost-per-wear thing is a good thing to go by.

Do you feel guilty when buying an expensive handbag?

no, because I spend within my means.

If I can't afford it, I don't buy it..NOTHING is worth getting into debt over

No because I buy what I can afford and pay for - I never carry a consumer debt on my credit cards. If it's something that is completely out of my price range comfort zone (like the gucci coral ostrich BTH) then I can't even think about it or be tempted by it to make that purchase. Also I use every bag I buy or else I'm wouldn't be comfortable with buying something I won't carry around.

I do! extremely guilty..but I think I deserve it..so I enjoy to use them as well. I am happy touching the bag, after all I bought it with my hard earn money, and I saved up!
I am not the major income earner, nor do i contribute much to the family, my dh did. But I do sacrifice though, quiting job after having kids, all housework....well, s treat now and then makes yourself happy, why not?

Nope:nogood: I think every purchase out (often for days, sometimes weeks) and always use the bag I buy. Also I pay cash/Debit for my bags or use a Dept. store card for the points and then pay it off immediately to avoid any bag debt since we're a new family. Sometimes I'll also sell a bag to fund a new one but I never feel any guilt. I love bags and they are my indulgence, why not treat myself when I can responsibly?

I feel exactly the same like you few months ago when I paid a few Ks for a bag. I keep on justifying the purchase and how many other stuffs could be bought with the same amount. Even until now, I still cant settle my problem of "being guilty" to pay for a bag. But my 'want' overpowered my self control!

So now, I will go for pre-loved as most of the it are half the price and with good care I may sell it off again without so much depreciation compare to buying a brand new and immediately depreciate 50%.

I agree with all your comments. If you can afford it and all your other bills are paid off then why not treat yourself? But I personally still can't get over how many other things i could buy for the price of one designer bag, i haven't spent more than 500$ on a bag yet cause i'm still a student but even with my $500 purchase, the whole way home i was thinking to myself "wow i could have bought my whole summer wardrobe for that" haha, BUT it was a damn good purchase and i know i'll be using that bag for years:D

I find that I only feel guilty if I truly can't afford the bag at that time. Usually when I have to put something on credit. If I pay for a bag outright (cash, debit or paypal balance) I have no guilt. :)

I think it's normal to feel guilty about spending big bucks on a bag (unless of course you are made of money and never have to worry about such things.) I'm not one of those people though.

No and I do not understand why any one would.. If it is your money to spend as you see fit then why is it so bad to see fit to use it on a bag that you want... I would rather spend more on a great bag that use the money for a ton of stuff I will not use..

I agree with Ghst - I buy what I can afford, So I get a few good bags instead of a lot of low priced bags, I do not try of a bag that is just not in my range (Birkin Croc) and I use every one of my bags... and that is enough to keep me enjoying my bags with out any guilt..
