What? Why should anyone feel self-conscious about their collection? On the contrary, I'd love to see great bags that're not from the big fashion houses! No offense to anyone, but lately I feel the offerings are kind of repetitive across most brands. We need a breath of fresh air here!

I could post my collection, yet the only thing that keeps me from doing it is just sheer laziness lol. Enjoy wearing what you have, and share away!

I keep coming back to see that Berry Antonio Melania! I would love to find a bag in such a beautiful, deep color!

I also concur that I want to see 'not good enough' bags. They're good enough.

Some posh designers just don't 'click' with an individual's aesthetic. I understand that, say, Versace china settings are expensive and desirable, but the look doesn't do it for me. I agree that Chanel bags are finely made and that the price is high for actually pretty good reasons, but the Chanel look just isn't for me. I could afford to have a couple, but I don't because Coco doesn't do it for me and I don't want to pay for stuff I 'should' have but don't like.

I wouldn't want super-ornate carved wood furniture in my house, whether it came out of the basement of Versailles or not. Let someone else who will love it have it!
Likewise, it's nice to see ultra riche bags and all, but I love finding someone I DONT know about. When people post inexpensive beautiful bags and they know the brand/style name?? Jackpot!!

I kinda feel sorry for people who don't like anything that cost less than x. There aren't many people for whom money is literally no obstruction. I doubt we have hundreds of Arab oil sheiks, software moguls, Astors and Waltons on here. Unless your last name is Buffett or Rockefeller, you cannot afford an unlimited, infinite supply of true haute couture and large crocodile Birkins either, so you just look silly looking down on those of us not buying half a million dollars of Dior every year. There's ALWAYS someone richer than you. There ARE people buying half a million dollars of one designer at a time.

Goodness, everyone nowadays thinks it's no shame to mix high and low. If it's good enough for Kate Moss and royalty, it's good enough for me!

Please, ladies (and gents) post your loved finds no matter how 'little' they are worth. I think the majority here don't mind and get excited about bags, not money.

Remember at the end of 'Citizen Kane'...? All that money, all that fancy bling, and all he wanted was cheap, tatty, worn little Rosebud.
Post those bags!
That is a very thoughtful post and I do agree with every word.
Thank you for posting :)

TPF is a microcosm.
I live in a city where I rarely see a lady wearing a high end bag and it's also true in the closest bigger town where there are lots of prestigious boutiques ( Hermès, Chanel, LV etc).
Hi Mariapia!
Yes you are correct, there is a big difference between TPF and the real world. There's just not enough of the real world posted I guess..

Oooh, great to see this - I owned a white bag from this brand back in the days when I was happy with just one bag at a time ;) the leather was fabulously smooshy and wore like iron, I loved it! I received soooo many compliments on that bag, people even used to offer to buy it off me
It's a great brand, the bags are beautiful, sturdy and not so trendy. I wonder if you have a picture of it still?

I don't, sad to say. It was a few years ago and it met a sticky end  I left it on a table for a few days without thinking, and the sun melted a packet of sweets that were inside it, and welded the lining and leather into one big horrible mess :annoyed: there was no recovering it!
