Do you dress up to go into an LV store?

i would never wear a tracksuit or any athletic wear (like every single college girl on campus) to the boutique. i'd feel degraded in my own way. even flip flops make me feel like i'm poor. i'd always wear something at least, respectable, so that the sales associates will show me respect and not ignore my existence. in my opinion, it's like going to an interview. you're not going to wear causal clothing because the clothes you wear is a part of the first impression you're giving.

I always like to dress nicely and look put together - no matter where I'm going so I guess I do dress up to go shopping but it's just how I like to dress on an everyday basis. I do wear flats and jeans though. Just like to dress them up a bit.

Yes I do!! I love to dress up and look nice when I go out shopping, dining, or whatever outside of work. I work in a lab, dont get to that often:shucks: So when I get the opportunity to wear my nice clothes I do.:D

I wouldn't compare it to a job interview, you do come to buy something from them, why should you make so much effort to look presentable to them? Well LV store doesn't have to be your only destination that day does it?)

I have to add though, that I don't wear sweat pants when I go out at all, but I would never wear a pair of higheels and my fur just when I go to buy a bag - no matter if its LV or not.

I'm always on vacation every time I'm able to visit a LV store. Generally speaking...I'm usually wearing jeans, t-shirt and flip flops/tennis shoes. Comfy clothes.

Join the club girl. Whenever I go shopping I dress for comfort. My glasses, hair tied back, jeans and sweater. Also, no makeup. I don't care if the SA or other people look at me differently. If I see something I like I will buy it, but if they don't want to help me then I take my business elsewhere. It's their loss. So to answer your question, no I don't dress up to go shopping. I guess I am comfortable in my own skin and feel like I don't need to dress to impress.

Skinnies, sweater/tee, or tights with a shirt-dress....and my forever-present-flats...no makeup and depending on where i came from and who i'm hanging out with before and after, i might show up with or without a designer tote...*shrugs* and i've rarely gotten dissed or ignored unless the store was busy and every SA had a customer already....

I don't "dress up" just because I'm going into a designer store. I wear the clothes I am wearing that day. I'm usually in jeans & a cute top. I'm also in nursing school so I will go in with scrubs sometimes. I'm fortunate to have encountered only sweet and professional SAs.

It's rare to see anyone "dressed up" to go shopping regardless of the store. I live in a very upscale area and I see women all the time in ripped jeans, old T-shirts and carrying LV (coming out of $2-3 million homes so I believe the LVs are real).

If I saw someone wearing their best clothes on a Saturday morning to go to LV or any other store I'd think they felt they had to prove something to the SA's.

This reminds me of a story DH told me - he cares about quality in some things, just doesn't see it in bags (but he's getting better about that). Anyway he needed some new sunglasses and went in an upscale store wearing old, stained clothes. The SA said "you know these start at $200, are you sure you're interested?" So he pulled out his mangled ones and said, "yes, I paid $450 for these and I stepped on them today while working at a charity building site, which is why I'm dressed like a bum, but I'll go elsewhere to replace them" and he walked out.

Once again I feel ancient - my mother used to wear a nice dress, high heels, GLOVES and a HAT to go grocery shopping in the 60's - I don't know anyone who even dresses like that at church anymore!

nope. whatever im wearing is ok. during the blizzard i went in sweats and snow boots. ive been in jeans..but i have actually never been "dressed up" there at all. i think the fact that i'm spending THAT much money allows me to wear whatever i want
