Do you dress up to go into an LV store?

My hubby walks into LV, Chanel and Prada in flip flops and track pants. He feels comfortable in this attire and doesn't care what other people think of him.

He gets ignored by the SAs who don't know him.

The ones who do know him will say hi and bring out new stock for him to look at. They know he is a serious buyer and will not waste their time.

I should do this but I honestly don't feel that they have full respect for me if I'm not neatly dressed. Last week I went to the LV store and when I got home I discovered my blouse was inside out. That morning I was in a hurry so I grab the tunic from the hanger and assuming it was alright I went to the store. I still feel ashamed. I sat in the train, in a cab and it was very crowded in the store. The people must have seen it. I bought a bag and the SA's must have been thinking I was a Madwoman. It takes a while before this addict will go to the Lv store again.
:roflmfao::roflmfao: now that made me laugh!!!! once when i was in nursing school i was running very late and when i got to class (in hopital) i realised that i had no undie on underneath my uniform!!! i was so embarassed (no one could tell ... but i knew!!!)

:lolots::lolots: You crack me up!

Last time I went in the store I was dressed to go to an amusement park (quick LV stop then straight to amusement park). They were kind of rude. Next time I go in I am planning on buying about $5000 worth of stuff. I'm considering going in sweats and uggs just to throw them off. See how rude they are when I spend that much.

Now I would totally do that :smile1: hey if they want my $ they better be nice lol but watch they wont be that rude to you if you spending that much!

Wow @ the diversity of the responses. So interesting to see how different cultures and locales play into people's opinions. Very fascinating :-) (sorry, the sociologist in me! lol)

Great idea for a thread OP!

For myself, when it comes to my handbags, I'm not a "browsy" shopper. Extremely no nonsense from the moment I wake up, I know I'm heading to the store at some point to purchase Item A. If I'm going during the week, work attire. For the weekend, I'm wearing whatever's appropriate for the rest of my activities that day. If it's an entire shopping day w/ the girls, lunch etc, cute and casual. If I'm riding, I'll probably be in equestrian gear (I'd wipe the manure off my boots of course...after all...is it LV :-P jk, I wouldn't go anywhere with $h!+ on my shoes, I promise lol)

All this is to say, the fact that it's LV doesn't play into my attire choice. I try to be cute and appropriate for any occasion, including shopping but if I'd wear it to Nordstrom, Macy's etc, I'd wear it to LV.

I will note that LV isn't open at night, so you'll never catch me in club gear and extremely high heels...I just think that's a bit gauche and it screams nouveau riche and "trying too hard"
