Do you dress up to go into an LV store?

I don't dress up for the sake of going to LV, but I don't look like a slob either. I just go in jeans, a nice t shirt or sweater and comfortable shoes.. Just like I'd wear if I go to H&M or any other store :smile1:

Last time I went in the store I was dressed to go to an amusement park (quick LV stop then straight to amusement park). They were kind of rude. Next time I go in I am planning on buying about $5000 worth of stuff. I'm considering going in sweats and uggs just to throw them off. See how rude they are when I spend that much.

My husband went to the LV store on worth ave in palm beach to look for something for me. And I kid you not they asked him what he was looking for, he told them and they looked at him and said "honey, maybe Macy's is more in your budget" are you kidding me!!! He was wearing nice golf shorts, a lacoste polo and sperry slip ons. For real lady?!?!? She no longer is employed with the company :)

That messed up. Glad she's no longer employed there anymore.

i would never wear a tracksuit or any athletic wear (like every single college girl on campus) to the boutique. i'd feel degraded in my own way. even flip flops make me feel like i'm poor. i'd always wear something at least, respectable, so that the sales associates will show me respect and not ignore my existence. in my opinion, it's like going to an interview. you're not going to wear causal clothing because the clothes you wear is a part of the first impression you're giving.

Omg, funny. Flip flops make u feel poor :) true that, which grown woman wears a track suit out shopping??? I see women who wear juicy couture track suits who are clearly not in their 20s and it makes me giggle.

Also, no make up and I wear flip flops, but then again I'm usually out and about without make up and flip flops. Flip flops are just so comfy for me to walk in.

Lol! I live in orange county, everyone walks around in loungewear and flip flops with messy beachy tossled hair with full faces of makeup. This is is the land of maserati's, bentleys, porsches and dressing like you dont care but youre wearing $180 lounge pants! And a $120 t-shirt in your $150,000+ car !

In other words, youre fabulous!

LOL. Me too!

I am typically found in my usual "west coast uniform" (yoga pants, T-shirt and Lululemon jacket).

Dressed up is jeans, a blouse, a blazer and boots.

I figure that smart sales people know better than to judge a book by its rather "casual cover" and the other type of sales person I'm not interested in dealing with.

Yes! Lol @ "the west coast" uniform!

Its just how we live!

No, I never do. Last summer I went in really loud I'm-on-the-beach kinda shorts and flipflops to pick up a bag that was being repaired...
The funniest thing was the costumers looked at me from head to toe in a snotty manner when I entered the store, then all the SAs went to hug me and offer me something to drink, you should have seen their faces!

Love this!!

haha maybe that's a German thing! :D I got to know many many unfriendly SAs (not at LV but in other expensive store as well) . I always feel like SAs in the US are a lot nicer:) A friend of mine went to Chanel (also in Frankfurt) and asked the SA to show her a bag. Then the SA said "hmm..well. This bag is very expensive...." blabla and my friend was like "yap. Perhaps it's expensive for YOU. Bye" :D
Wow, how cool the answer of ur friend in chanel was! But normally i am not that cool (feel sorry for myself). It's a pity that i'v never been in USA, but i heard the service there is always better than in Germany. U know, some asians describe germany as 'a desert of service' (hope other german girls here dont mind......) one time i wanted to buy a schweizer armeemesser for my friend so i went to a mall with my husband. He asked the sa there very friendly 'can i have a look......' But he even hasn't finished yet and the sa interrupted him loudly 'u didnt see that i am very busy now?!' After that she ignored us all the time so i left to one other mall......

No, but I do dress nicely whenever I go shopping. Last time I went to LV, I wore my favorite pair of Joe's Jeans, a graphic tee from Gap that had fish on it, and a cardigan. I was also wearing my electric blue retro style New Balance sneakers. The SA actually raved about my shoes and said that he saw similar ones in GQ. When I told him they were only $65, he nearly had a heart attack. He said "I thought they would be like $150!!!" It made me feel good because they are my favorite shoes and no one has ever complimented them. Lol. I feel like you get more respect and help based on your knowledge of the product, as well as being respectful to the SAs.

I hate to admit it, but I dress up any time I go to a designer store and my wife does too. We are both young (I'm 21 and she is 19). Often when going to designer stores we are never addressed and wander around the store waiting for someone to help us. (I think that in a store like LV, you shouldn't have to hunt for a SA - they should go to you). I'd prefer to go in shorts and a t-shirt, but then I never get taken seriously until after I pull out my wallet to pay - and for spending that much money, I think you should enjoy the whole experience!

When we do dress up, I notice a lot more attention from SA's. Of course, what you're looking for plays a huge factor too. Last time we were there, we were ordering a Mon Monogram Small Ring Agenda Cover, 2012 Agenda Refill, and a Mon Monogram Neverfull PM. ($1918.60 total). We did not get much attention and the SA didn't really seem interested or helpful. However, we have an appointment scheduled for this Saturday, to order 3 Mon Monogram Pegase 55 suitcases, as well as 3 Mon Monogram Keepall 50 bags, and she is practically rolling out the red carpet for our arrival for an order that is $17903.40.

Sorry for the random rant, but this has always been a pet peeve of mine - I feel like all customers should be treated the same no matter if they are just looking, spending $300.00, or spending $30000.00. Especially because they have no idea how much someone is going to spend just by looking at them!

I should do this but I honestly don't feel that they have full respect for me if I'm not neatly dressed. Last week I went to the LV store and when I got home I discovered my blouse was inside out. That morning I was in a hurry so I grab the tunic from the hanger and assuming it was alright I went to the store. I still feel ashamed. I sat in the train, in a cab and it was very crowded in the store. The people must have seen it. I bought a bag and the SA's must have been thinking I was a Madwoman. It takes a while before this addict will go to the Lv store again.
