So the OPI base coat I bought on eBay arrived today...

THE BOTTLE WAS EMPTY!!!:sad::cry::crybaby:

Not "it leaked out in the package" empty, but "she sent an empty bottle" empty!

So I entered a problem report with eBay saying that the bottle was empty with residue around the neck, but none in the packaging and she wrote back, and I quote: "It was new & sealed. Your lying." OUCH!!!

Take pictures and send them to ebay with your report.

That really sucks! Did you use Paypal? You can get them to help you. Let us know who you bought it from so we know to stay away.

Whoa! That's crazy! I hope eBay or PayPal will refund you! I'm sorry girl that's a real bummer!

:nogood: Oh my! ! That's just plan WRONG! ! Both EBay & PayPal are good at refunds and cracking down on cons tho. Hope they help you fast! Was it a top seller? Just wondering.....

I did take pictures. And I called and talked to someone in eBay's resolution center. I'm not a liar and I didn't appreciate someone calling me one. (You all are my witnesses. I didn't own any OPI to pull a switch with an empty bottle...and none of you sent me one. :p)

I did use PayPal. The seller was "kyliegirl2012". She wasn't a top seller and looks like she sells a bunch of different stuff, not just polish. And she only had two negatives. Oh well, live and learn.

I just looked her up on Ebay and it says she doesn't have anything to sell.

I checked her completed items...everything from shoes to ink cartridges. Last sale was on the 22nd, but last feedback was from the 6th. She sold an OPI color, too. I want to see the feedback on that one!
I can't believe she called you a liar - what a twit.

Are you going to order another OPI base from somewhere else?

She's obviously not a legit or good seller to call you a liar like that. If she really cared she would apologize and refund the money of she can't replace it

Wow! Stories like yours makes me wary of ebay (even though I still use it sparingly). I will definitely avoid this seller! I would think she would be concerned about her reputation/rating and try to resolve the issue. Even if she wasn't gonna replace the polish, that's no excuse for her response and makes me doubt her.

The polish is not primer. I wouldn't imagine that it could have leaked without leaving any residue behind

Until you get your OPI, maybe you can try a RNP base coat underneath your gel manicure. That's what I do now. I couldn't stand the long soak-offs and gritty texture of the residue left on my nails. Now, my soak off is 10 minutes max, and absolutely no gritty residue. You might have to play around with base coats to find one that works. I know orly bonder and walmart brand pro-fx: ridge filling basecoat last for me. It does not affect the life of my manicure, as long as I stop the RNP 1-2 mm from the very tip. I wear my gel 12-14 days. Revlon colorstay base didn't work so well for me. After 1 day, the gel completely separated from the Revlon, which was still attached to my nail.

Now she will have 3 negatives, and extra points off for rudeness.

Definitely going to look for the OPI. I'm tired of dreading the removal.

I'll probably just wait until I get a different base. I just don't have time to let RNP dry. If I tried using RNP I just KNOW one of my kids (almost 3 yo and 7 months) would sense it and ensure that it got smudged. I hadn't done my nails at all since having kids until I found out about SOGs. Their instant "dry-ness" is what sold me.

At one time I had the OPI base in my Amazon wish list, but when I received a coupon for Sephora I bought the Sephora OPI base. I loved the removals (as much as you can love removals) when I used it, but my polish "cracked" off at the tips, so returned it. I am one of those who uses Gelish Vitagel & removals are easy with it. Several woman say it has also helped the condition of their nails too.

Hmmm...Maybe I'll look into Vitagel, too. My gel chips without primer. Did you use primer under the OPI (like on the tips)?

I don't remember, but i think not. I am using it now, but only on the nails that always peel. The OPI seemed to be too brittle for me, and it smelled like airplane glue or something.
