well, to their credit, cs did say they would normally offer to replace the bag. but it had to be the exact same bag, and the whiskey is sold out.

the shoulder bag just has bad vibes to it now. i don't want another one. maybe this is a sign i should get my red epi speedy. :graucho:

i loooove the epi stuff. i bought myself my first two vernis pieces for my birthday and it's going to be all downhill from there. hehe.

kallison:

I would get the LV Epi Satchel if that is what you want.
Take the Legacy Slim tote back if you are not completely happy with it. Something else might come along in the fall which you like better. Hopefully by then you will feel better about Coach.

I totally agree. Do something that is going to take all this disappointment way and makes you happy. Coach is usually very good with their customer service but they dropped the ball this time. You need time to let the anger subside. Just don't walk away from the Coach forum. We like your sweet Puppy Face!

wow...this fiasco is getting EPIC...so sorry kallison. This really sucks for you, but I hope this won't turn you off Coach...deep, deep down inside, you know they are great bags!

awww  that totally sucks. I can't believe they were so rude!!

if it makes you feel ANY better, at least you will get a letter for more than you paid for the bag. I had a repair issue about two years ago with a bag I bought on clearance at macy's, and that was the only thing that made me semi-happy. I could have re-bought my bag too, but like you, I was just ready to be done with it.

I totally agree that you need a red epi speedy.

This is why I'm hesitant to bring in a demi where the strap is coming apart. I just don't want them to patch it up wrong or completely just take it and give me a discount for it cause I love that bag. I'd rather use it as a pouch when the strap falls off than face the possibility that they can't fix it or mess it up.

So sorry that it happened this way. :(

:yucky: :wtf: This is unacceptable and I am shocked because I had heard such great things about Coach cs. It really makes me consider if I want keep buying Coach if they are going to handle things this way. That SA needs a good talking to from her superiors -I don't care if the flaw is "just the pocket" or not, it is still a flaw on a bag that should last more than a couple months, and it is their repair dept. that did it! I really hope this is not indicative of the future of cs (or repairs) at Coach. I've gotten far better cs from companies that aren't nearly as large or well known as Coach. Do they not realize that word of mouth about something like this can be bad for business? Gah, it just makes me so mad :cursing: They are lucky it wasn't my bag because I'm not nearly so nice as Kallison, I would be standing outside that store showing everyone my bag and telling them what they could expect. Yeah, I'm mean like that when you cross me.

Kallison, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I totally don't blame you for being done with the whole line at this point. I really hope cs comes to their senses and compensates you because this is just bad.

soo....a little update.

got a call from coach a few minutes ago. of course, the bag couldn't be repaired and i am getting a credit for the bag. but i am still disappointed. i had to drive into atlanta to return and i'll end up having to drive back to use the credit. at gas is over $3/gallon. just giving me credit when it was THEIR crappy repair doesn't seem fair to me. (or am i overreacting?!)

No your not overreacting they should be bending over backwards for you after the way they treated you.
They should give you the credit and a new bag!

I say take the money and go buy something from the LV Epi line like you suggested. That is my fav line from LV so I know how you feel. I have ben lusting after the blue Epi speedy.

I hope you feel better I know it's frustrating dealing with rude people. Let us know what you decide to do.

I'd be disappointed as well. It's too bad many retailers don't recognize the time and trouble we have to spend sometimes to return merchandise that was defective to begin with. It wasn't your fault you received a defective item but you are having to spend your time, which has a value, to get what you were entitled to initially. Perhaps a friendly chat with your store manager about the experience when you go in for the credit might get you a little extra something, even if it's only a discount on something new.
