disappointed in a repair...

I can tell that it's been repaired - but only because I have the whiskey one to compare it to. They did a good job. It was only the zipper pull - not technically difficult. To replace the turnlock they have to open up the lining of the front pocket, replace the turnlock, and seal it all back up. I can't imagine how they conceal the stitching - glue I guess!

I'm about 25 min south west of Fort Lauderdale. 35 min north west of Miami. Pembroke Pines.

just a little update:

i took my bag back into the store today and told them how upset i was over the repair. it told them the new turnlock didn't, well, lock and that they stained the leather. their response? "well, it's just at the pocket".

are you KIDDING me?! i could feel the tears welling up and i told them that it wasn't fair that i had that bag and never got any stains on it because i took impeccable care of it, but they send it back with a stain.

so the girl got on the phone with cs, who told her to just send the bag back and they'll probably end up sending me a letter for the amount. which is fine. but it's the principle of the thing. i had to make ANOTHER trip out to atlanta to do this...and walked out without a bag and then i still have to wait another few weeks.

i'm SO frustrated with coach right now...

Sorry to hear that Kallison! If you do have your heart set on the Whiskey Shoulder Bag, my local Macy's has them in stock and you could always phone order for the F&F. BUT, you'd still have that credit from Coach and that would mean shelling out another $320 + tax.

I'm really sorry about the bad repair and about them probably not being able to get your bag back.

i'm so bummed. and, honestly, quite disappointed in coach.

You have every right to be disappointed in Coach. The attitude you got today was awful. The turnlock was broken because Coach had a problem with the turnlocks. The stain is on the bag because someone in the repair department was sloppy. I am totally disgusted by the attitude of the SA you had to deal with today. Legacy bags are supposed to be the top of the line-not some $10 "as is" bargain. I would call CS or send a letter off to Corporate about this obvious degrogation of service and support. :lecture:

the turnlocks didn't even match. at least the sa acknowledged that.

oh, trust me, cs is going to get a piece of my mind. for all the money i spend there, how dare they treat me like that. they haven't shown me a reason why i shouldn't just take my money to lv or elsewhere.

Unbelievable Kallison!
I would be upset as well if I spent that much money and the repair turned out like that. Nevermind, the SA's responses!
I also baby my bags and knowing that stain was there and not put there by me would definately bother me, IMO!
I hope this all turns out for the best.

I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles! Here's my lawyer hat talking. A repair should return the bag to its original condition as closely as possible. Some repairs can't be expected to match the original condition - i.e., a tear in the middle of the bag. Your repair, however, should have restored the bag to its original condition because it should have not have that difficult. The original condition of your bag did not include a stain and mis-matching turnlocks. Your repair was simply sloppy. I would definitely return it and state that the job was not satisfactory and that they should repair it again and compensate you for the time you've lost not having the use of it. Good luck!!

exactly!

in my opinion, it wasn't a difficult repair. i wasn't asking for a miracle. but THEY chose to repair it, rather than declining and sending me a letter back.

driving back and forth from atlanta just plain SUCKS. i mean, i'm not asking for, like, major compensation. just for them to acknowledge they messed up.

Kallison:

I am very sorry for your having to deal with a bad repair job. Coach just does not have the great repair and service department it had in the 80's and 90's. For a bag of that price they should just find you a new one and send it to you. I am apalled at the bad service you received. The nerve of that SA to say it was just on the pocket. Take back the Legacy Slim tote, sometimes you just have to make a point. Coach needs to know that if they don't fix this properly they won't be getting any more of your business. By the way, Macy's Herald Square at 34th Street has the Legacy Shoulder Bag in Whiskey.

kind regards,
Liz
