Hello ladies, sharing an update about my Bar story . Went back to the boutique, and asked if I could try the knitted version in a size up (I’m usually a 38, and there was one 40 available). The SA said it would be too big, but I insisted, and it happened to be perfect. Not so tight in the chest area, much more comfortablefor my arms as well, while keeping the fitted structured design of the Bar. So I happily brought it home! Along with the 30 Montaigne suit trousers, that I found extremely flattering and comfortable.
Here are my two first Dior RTW pieces - the trousers already have small wrinkles, as I wore them to work yesterday. Couldn’t wait, that’s a good sign! Huge thanks all for your lovely and insightful messages, you’re the best :hbeat:

I love the knit jacket as well. Please share modeling pictures as well. Xo

Hello lovely ladies ❤️! Quick question for those who own a Bar jacket, did yours come with spare buttons (replacement buttons)? I’m asking because my knitted Bar jacket had a couple of spare buttons inside one of the pockets, in a small envelope, but a friend of mine bought the classic Bar jacket last week and it came without any spare buttons. So we wonder if she should go back to the boutique and ask, or if that’s normal.
Thanks in advance! ❤️

Thank you so much for your advice , the SA said it could be altered by the boutique’s tailor, but they cannot guarantee that it will look exactly as the original design because the Bar jacket is very difficult to make apparently

I tried on the trench and it’s absolutely stunning. But I wanted to think about it first and put the question here about the Bar Jacket, just to make sure if it makes sense to forget about it.
Do the trench!! Reading your post, it sounds like you’re holding onto the idea of Bar Jacket because it’s what you thought you wanted for so long…when what you REALLY want now is that stunning trench. Go with the trench! It’s what you truly want and the fit works.

Nevermind…this Bar is gorgeous and such a good buy!!!
I looove the trench as well! I wish I could buy both pieces :P:heart:.
I ended up with the knitted Bar jacket because 1. I already have two Burberry trenchs (I know, not the same!! But similar purpose) and 2. I dreamed about having a Bar jacket, the knitted version was perfect in terms of fitting, and it happened to be available in the size I needed.
Thank you so much for your kind words and advice! Will have a Dior trench for sure. Just maybe my next purchase!

After a few weeks wearing the knit Bar jacket, I can say this has been one of my best purchases ever! ♥️
My husband LOVES it, and I’ve received lots of compliments every time I’ve worn it. Absolutely stunning.
I’ve taken her to the office today. Here I am, going up from a meeting and being able to take a picture as I was alone in the elevator ! Please excuse my amount of office elements hahah.
Thanks everyone for all your advice, and for letting me share!

Tried some things on. Sizes were all over the map. Ended up buying a Dior dress that channeled issey miyake with Prada sport toggles, second pic, size 42, 3200 USD. (The skirt has a bit too much volume, so I may have my third party professional tailor take it in a bit, after I’ve worn it a few times). I bought this bc it seems like the perfect travel dress, lightweight, pre-wrinkled, and rollable.

i loved the ankle grazing prairie leather skirt, size 40, (relatively well priced at 6300 USD which I think was the same price as last years cotton Under the Sea dress) , but I didn’t think I’d end up wearing it enough. (The leather skirt is too short for formal, and too long for my daily lifestyle). The medium thick waistband is very very comfy. IMO all of Dior leather RTW runs larger than the rest. ETA: I just realized that I bought my dior leather moto jacket last year full price for 4K USD (and I’ve been told the price for the same jacket has risen, so I’m not entirely sure how dior comes up with its prices).

The short sleeved techno bolero (forgot to note the size) was also cute and well priced, I think 2100+ USD, but I prefer chanel jacket/tops which are less boxy. Long sleeved jacket size 42, 3800 USD (my SA said if I wanted it, I should have it taken in at the waist); black and white toile dress, size 44, 4K USD. There was also a preview of the upcoming seasons shoes and bags, but I forgot to take pics.

In previous seasons, I am a Dior size 40-42, and a Montaigne line size 38. For sake of comparison, I am a chanel or Hermes size 38. Last pic is with my favorite Dior bucket hat; chanel jeans, from the last sale; Hermes ribbed sweater top with chain detail, this season; Hermes sellier baseball jacket, 2020; and navy cargo picotin.

Love the dress (?) in the third pic. Do you have a tag? Unfortunately, some dresses are or too short either too long for me. The look with a basket hat on is gorgeous !!!!!

Thanks so much :hugs:Forgot to ask if you posted a pic of your cotton bar jacket that you mentioned above
here’s the tag (enlarged from pic 7). I think it will be well above the knee for you bc I recall you being much taller than my (5’2). . . I’m long waisted and the dress was fine in that respect
hugs:heart:

Thanks, but I haven't posted this jacket yet. I will be going to do it soon.

Hard choices! You look great in everything. I know the prairie skirt is out of the box for you, but it looks very cool on you.

Thanks so much @gracekelly for your kind words. The prairie skirt would be the best for my imaginary life :)

@Tasha1, I forgot to add that the black and white dress higher waisted than the dress I purchased. It is also translucent and has a separate slip. Because my figure is broad and a bit boxy for my size, dior slips tend not to fit me (in this case, the size below would have been too high and too tight). That requires going up a size. Or, skip the slip and fashion my own underpining. Not sure if that will factor in your calculation re sizes.
