Rebecca Minkoff - the quality just isn't there for me. I can get the same quality for $40 at Penney's (IMHO). And I used to say LV, but I like some of the newer styles.

MK just because it seems like everyone I know has it, and the style generally doesn't interest me.

Bottega Veneta - gorgeous bags, but from what's being said about the quality, I don't want to risk it.

I'm pretty sure I could find a bag I like from most designers but I'm pretty loyal to LV.

I would love a Chanel but a flap is the last style I'd get. Same w/Hermes. Birkin's and Kelly's bore me but I like some other styles.

For overall aesthetics BV is the one I just can't get into at all.

Hermes - wouldn't buy any of their bags, I find them mediocre. I do like the Kelly clutch and their belts. Maaayyybe a white Evelyn if they were sub-$1000USD (so no, I'll never buy an Hermes bag).

Versace - The medusa head makes me uncomfortable.

I really wanted to say Michael Kors but their wallets have been growing on me. Michael Kors is also only sold in one store in my city, so the only people I really spot with them are foreigners or tourists from interstate.

What is wrong with the quality of Bottega? I've never heard anything bad about their bags. :o

I've just heard some things about the leather not being as good quality these days. That being said, maybe they shouldn't have been put on my list because I think they're gorgeous and with enough research I might find one that's likely to hold up as well as I'd like.

I have heard this about Prada, Chanel and countless other brands too. Not sure how much of it is nitpicking and how much is actual variations in quality.

I bought a Prada in the thick of their quality issues, and it is actually spectacular quality. Moving forward though, I would probably be very cautious about Prada or avoid them completely. I think I just got lucky. But you have a great point about nitpicking or a true quality issue.

Anything covered in monograms or huge logos- so no Coach or LV prints for me.

I don't own Chanel, but the CC on the lock is minimal enough that I like it.

Despite my dislike of Coach prints (their plain/leather bags are fine), I LOVE their key chains and just ordered my first :D

Balenciaga is probably the only brand I would never buy from, I'm just not a fan of that style (I could see how some would like them), I like more structured classic styled bags and the Bal bags look pretty slouchy and also occasionally like the faux leather bags at target. No hate on target I just wouldn't buy an expensive bag that looks like it's from there.

Louis Vuitton monograms and Damier - I think these are the most classic looking monograms but I still am not a fan. I like the non monogrammed from Louis Vuitton, I just wished they used a smooth leather instead of the epi leather all the time, I've only found one bag that the epi really fits it.

Gucci is my favorite premier designer, I think they have very unique but still classic designs if you avoid the monograms and over branded bags. But I hate guccis monogram... it looks old? I don't know how to explain, same with coach. They look dated. Poor color choice.

Chanel - I've only seen a real Chanel once- at an upscale antique store. It looked very beautiful in the display case but I still didn't understand the appeal. Chains are very busy, cc clasp is a little too flashy, the quilted leather looks a bit like a tire. I think one thing is that they rarely photography well, so they tend to look cheaper in pictures.

Goyard - way too busy, look cheap.

Some Hermes look classic but some look incredibly gaudy.

I wouldn't buy any new exotics either (from any brand), the process for getting these leathers is incredibly cruel. Hermes alligators are only knocked unconscious when they are skinned. Normal cowhide is linked to the meat industry so it's not terrible to buy that new, in my opinion, as they are also being killed for meat, not just a handbag.
