Designer Brands You Will Never Buy

I don't see the big deal. There have been nasty comments throughout this entire thread about many designer bags.
But I haven't seen anyone get this upset (at least not recently) until it was said about MK.

The truth is that here, many that live in the projects do use MK bags.
Much like they wear LV monogram (fake and real).

I have an LV in DE.. ya think I give two craps what people think? lol..
Let it go people, damn.
Thanks! :woohoo: I did not get why people were upset. This thread is about expressing your true feelings about brands. Check your feelings at the door. :p I find the opinions fascinating and sometimes funny. :smile1:

Well, I definitely wasn't upset about the tacky/ghetto comment. I just found it to be funny, and my comment was very tongue-in-cheek. I have always bought, worn, and carried what I like regardless. I own everything from MK and Dooney to Fendi and Gucci. Hell, I even own a15 y/o LV monogram Pouchette, and at times, I find it tacky. I'll go to Saks with my $99 Dooney and make a beeline to the Gucci bags. It takes ALOT to offend me.

This is a fun place, and I enjoy it. Handbag talk is all frivolous in the grand scheme of things, but I love sharing the frivolity of it all. Some people just take fashion and personal style way too seriously.

I think that MK is polarizing because yes he does copy a lot of popular shapes, silhouettes, and designs from other fashion houses. That can be said for a lot of other fashion houses. Even Target, H&M, and Forever21 get in on the action. I'm just not real sure why he gets singled out so much.

Let's face it. There's really nothing new or innovative in handbag design. The fabrication is the only thing that really changes.

Sorry for the long winded post and back to the topic at hand. Went to the Nordstrom pre-sale. I would probably never purchase Celine. Just not my thing, and the bags are huge and heavy.

Gosh, I completely agree and love your comments, lenarmc![emoji7]

Yeah I like MK too at the moment, but it might change in a few months, cause last year I was crazy about Coach, [emoji4]

So, never say never or hate, ha..ha.. It's a strong word..[emoji40]

I agree completely.

Even the brands i dislike i don't think i would ever go as far as saying they are 'ghetto'.

+1  Love your response! Like you, my handbags run the gamut! I tend to buy what I & wear what I like. It's the same with jewelry...some people go for the designer styles with the designer prices. I buy fine jewelry that I like regardless of whose name is stamped on it.

+1, agree completely! Back to topic, I'm not inclined to get anything in the brand Gianna Bernina from Macy's. Had one ages ago and it fell apart within a few months.

i have bought designer bags for more than 10 years and i used to dislike lv for its logo overload, so i have chanel bags mostly plus other brands. But strange enough....lately i'm beginning to appreciate some of lv monogram and damier ebene bags for its classic look. So last year i started buying lvs and i must say i love how those bags are so easy to wear and easy to maintain, especially good for me living in a country where rain are so unpredictable.

I mentioned mk as a brand i wouldn't buy. Today i would like to add 2 more brand.

New coach bag. (only like their vintage)

saint laurent (ysl) for its quality. After having 3 ysl.

Honestly this thread makes me sad every time it comes across my unread. I own many MK bags, and I am far from tacky or "ghetto". You can say you don't like a brand without making rude comments about those who do. And I genuinely don't always agree with the comparisons of MK & other brands. I think Rebecca Minkoff's bags are almost exact copies of other brands, but I'd never attack someone for buying one. Please find ways to express your opinions without making total insults to others.

Chanel because their sales associates have displayed worse customer service and product knowledge than my local Best Buy. (Montreal, Toronto, Beverly Hills and West Palm Beach Chanel boutiques)

+1. Don't worry though. Actually what they say shows what kind of people they are. It's one thing to say 'I don't like MK because of it's design, etc, etc' but to say it's tacky and ghetto?
