Designer Brands You Will Never Buy

Balenciaga, I don't like the moto style. I also see a lot of fakes, which is surprising to me.

I find LV a bit boring (mono) and very common, but some of the more recent styles I actually like.

But I will probably end up eating my words after all that

I'm really close to saying "never" on rebecca minkoff due to her ties with scientology. i did buy one a few years back that I used and it fell apart within a few months. Customer Service never got back to me regarding repairs. Luckily I bought it at Nordstrom and they send their handbags and wallets off to repair for free. There are a few styles that are cute and I like. I've considered buying them off of ebay but I have yet to do that.

The quality of RM bags continues to decline it seems... The prices remain the same (although some have actually decreased like the $395 MAMs) and the quality declines (zipped external pockets removed, internal pockets removed, plastic zippers replace metal zippers, and leather trim removed for interior pockets). Makes me sad because I liked my first black MAM so much.... :hrmm:

Hermes for the obvious reason, and it seems to me the only purpose in carrying one is to advertise "I have more money than taste." They are not attractive ( look like old lady bags from the '50's :p) and appear to be very inconvenient, without any usable features.

I agree for the most part. MK is getting very "full of themselves" with higher and higher prices for less and less quality. Some of the earlier ones had really fabulous leather but not so much anymore.

Can say that about a few other designers as well. I don't see where he is raising his prices or that his bags are of any less quality than some of the other brands out there, but to each their own.

I do agree with you on this! Well about carrying it to say I have money, I just can't imagine any bag is worth that much money, I don't mind the look of the bag. Maybe I just wish I had that much money to play around with, lol.

I used to like Michael Kors, but since the brand exploded in popularity the design seems to have gone downhill. I especially dislike the big, shiny circular MK logo.

I had sworn off Coach for a while, but they seem to be making better bags lately. I like that they have revived more classic styles with very small or entirely absent brand logos (aside from a hangtag). I just remember going to a Coach outlet a few years ago and being horrified by how bad the bags were. I know most of the outlet merchandise is made specifically for the outlet, so my expectations weren't that high, but some of the bags were so incredibly ugly I couldn't believe any brand worth a dime would want people walking around displaying those things with their logo on it.

For some reason I can't get into Kate Spade. I think they're just too ladylike for my style. I also don't love Hermes... not that I could ever afford their bags, I just find most of them boring and stuffy. I hate the huge perforated "H" on the Evelyn.

ugh yes I agree about the huge shiny circular MK logo. it really turns me off from the brand!

and I used to think that about all the evelyn's I saw, until I read somewhere that the "H" is supposed to face INSIDE. people just keep wearing them the wrong way! haha. I woudn't mind carrying that bag with the H facing inwards, kinda like a secret.

I am into Hermès vintage bags. I bought some for a very cheap price at a time when no one was interested. One of them is 50 years old and it's still in perfect condition. The others are from the 70's and the leather is still great too.

I didn't buy them to show off. In my area I am not sure a lot of people recognize them.
Every morning I meet a very young lady carrying a Kelly. She looks great and not at all old-fashioned. She wears it with skinny jeans and flat shoes. Very trendy look!

That being said, here Michael Kors has been the craze for a few months.
I know because the logo is not a very discreet one.
I see it everywhere.....
