Oh no, another 30 lbs on Monday! So glad there are no other "crops" in the
works. I can imagine that it would be "kind of fun" the first day, but then
after that, it get's "old" soon! Now, if I remember correctly, shouldn't Pecan
season be coming right on the heels of tomato season! This is the price one
must pay for being a "gourmet cook"!! Everyone loves a "Lily Dish"!!

But, I tell you, pamella, the aroma is even better than our Santa Maria Novella potpourri, and you know that's saying something, since nothing smells better than SMN.:D

And, yes, pecan "season" is coming up in less than a month. and I'll be slinging 50 lbs. of nuts, and then Christmas cookie baking will start Thanksgiving weekend. Dang!

Yes, Lily, I think the same thing, how could we implement this "dibs" system? no kidding, I'd be willing to do so!

I think all we'd have to do is post the auction number and the name of the scarf and maybe a link right here on the thread and say this is the one I'm hoping to get.

I think we'd all be respectful of one another enough to make it work. The first one to list it would have "dibs." Of course, it would have to work on the Crafty Furbie Honor System, but we all know that's highly respected throughout Craftyland.

I'll start it out - I found a Trophees de Venise with a deep blue border this morning (just listed this morning). I'll dig out the auction number later. I love this pattern, as it always makes me think of that beloved city, and I don't have a scarf with any blue in it, so I'm hoping that it will go for a decent price. This pattern usually brings very good money, but I'm hoping for a break on this one.:D

Hi Lily--what a great idea...nothing catching my fancy at the moment, but I'd be delighted to give it a whirl! And I loved the story of Les Cles! (and now have to put it on my list...oh dear).

Here's a question--what are folks looking for? (I review scarves on 'bay and elsewhere in the evenings as a form of therapy--couch shopping!)--happy to enable :graucho:

And Katel---300+.....OMG ....!! Are there pics?

Hi Shelby!

and Pugs--welcome back--missed you!

It's raining kitties and puppies here today, flood warnings in effect, and I need to go see clients (no silk today, though :shucks:)--may need a boat...!

'bye furbies, time to cast off!

Oh, good, as I think every "serious collector" should have a Les Cles.

I love the idea of the keys being exact replicas to some of the most wonderful buildings in Paris, but I'd just love to know which one of them opens the doors to Notre Dame, though.

Dear Lily, have you ever considered to become the Festival Queen of La Tomatina de Buñol?

I'm sure I'd win hands down, bmary. Heck, I pretty much looked just like this when I walked out the door yesterday. Even found tomato juice on the bra.:p

Had to go home and "hose myself down."

Lily, I'm all for a dibs system! In fact, since it will be a cold day in hell before my husband is going to warm up to the idea of me buying more scarves, I can devote my time to searching for the ones you all want!! That would be fun, and I could live vicariously through your purchases!

But, hclub, there are also some great bargains to be had on eBay. I'm sure your husband would be in favor of H. bargains wouldn't he?

It's also the place to find the grand old patterns that just aren't available in the boutiques, so come on and eBay with us.

Oh, god, looking at this makes my skin crawl. We used to can tomatos when I was a kid and I can still remember that disgusting feeling of slipping the skins off the tomato after it got dunked in the hot water. Ewwwwwww.

Actually, blanching them and removing the skins are my favorite parts, shelby. It's squeezing each one and removing the core that's the pain. And, the darn things squirt all over the place (how do you think I ended up with tomato juice on my bra!)

Hey, congratulations on the orange DT. Excellent!

Lily - my dad picked tomato from his garden for me for breakfast & I though of you :blushing:

Lola, thanks for thinking of me, and somehow I imagine that you enjoyed that tomato much more than I would at this point.

They certainly taste wonderful when they're that fresh, though, don't they. Nothing better.:D

Oh, and it's lovely to see you on Crafty, too, by the way. Where are my manners?

Waves, gals and miss you! Between work and fun nights out Ive perhaps been on tfp for half an hour since Sunday. Hope to catch up after dinner with friends tonight! Haven't counted in over a year but should be over 400 silkies by now.

Well, I'm still waiting for that bathtub full of scarves you promised MANY MONTHS AGO. I really have to see them all together.

Okay, girls, let's pester Vick until she gives in. Bathtub shot; bathtub shot.:yahoo:

The dibs system is nice :)
I am watching a long time hunt of mine - Mosaique # 320574853237.

Wow, I am so in awe of you ladies in the 3 digits!!!!

I've seen that one listed in your signature, and I just thought of you, as I saw a Mosaique listed for sale.

Okay, furbies, hands off lola's Mosaique (auction number listed above).

Now, if you win it, you have to take a picture and come back here and post it, so we can all admire it, since we're invested in your quest at this point. Good luck!
