...that's exactly the way my mom feels about Beloved India, Lily! Too funny! She didn't like the big grey feet either! But I adore the colors, and it looks pretty while tied.

Funny story... was getting my hair colored today (decided to darken the blonde a bit!), and this sweet young woman came up to me and meekly asked if she could take a photo of my gold birkin!! She said it's her dream bag, she thought she had always wanted a black, but saw mine and wants a gold now (I'd say go for either!). So I took pics of her holding my bag on her iphone! Too cute! Then she started grilling me about sizes, leathers, etc. But the piece de resistance was when she said "Oh, your kelly is just devine!" I had to tell her that, after all that, my bag was not a kelly! ;)

That was sweet of you to take her picture holding your bag. And, I'm glad that you didn't slap her silly when she called it a Kelly.:bagslap:

Which one Shelby?! By the way, HI SHELBY!!! You've been absent from crafty land all too much lately!

It's a blue and lavendar "Mexique" and I love it, because it was Jan's :smile1: I'm sorry I've been away so much, I've missed everyone. Work is crazy, my back is terrible (going to the pain management specialist on Friday - finally), and the organization I volunteer for is making me nuts.

Cute story about your "kelly" :D and you were very sweet to humor her. I once had a sales lady in a store say, nice bag, and then when she really looked at it and realized what it was, she said, oh my god, can I touch it? I said, sure, and handed it to her, and she giggled like I'd handed her a millon dollars.

I can just imagine the look on the woman's face when she realized what she had in her hands, Shelby!

Soooo sorry to hear about your back problems. Nothing so debilitating as back pain. I'm sure the stress you've been encountering at work isn't helping either. Hope you get some relief soon. :hugs:

Shelby, we may be twin daughters of different mothers!!! That's me to a T! (And I frame them. And I buy clothing/select my outfits to "work" with them....)

Make that triplets - I'm always watching a few and check the new listings every night - after all, I'm only somewhere
around 100, so I have a lot of catching up to do...

Welcome back, pugsy! We missed you and the boys must have missed you terribly!:sad: They'll be so happy to see you!:yahoo::yahoo:

Hi LGA! I've missed you tons too! We haven't crossed paths in days, it seems. How is Mlle. Bonbon? Has the humidity broken in NYC? We are pondering a trip their between Christmas and New Year's as it's usually a dreadful time in Canada if you're a non-skiing family (as we are), and our girls have always wanted to see the Christmas windows in NY. Keeping my fingers crossed. If we do, I will definitely let you know, so perhaps we can meet at the mecca! ;)

Waves, gals and miss you! Between work and fun nights out Ive perhaps been on tfp for half an hour since Sunday. Hope to catch up after dinner with friends tonight! Haven't counted in over a year but should be over 400 silkies by now.

VB....400???? Yes, Lily's right--we need that bathtub shot!!

Dear Lily, have you ever considered to become the Festival Queen of La Tomatina de Buñol?

attachment.php

Bmary...this is both a fascinating and yucky pic--I was nearly unable to eat my nightly 'mater quota....(but I perservered...'mater season is nearly over here)

The hold-up is probably with US Customs, pamella. With summer and vacation, I'm sure they've slowed down to a snail's pace.:p

Pamella, I've been waiting for something from Canada (ebay....yes, scarf-related...) that shipped end of July--finally got serious today and used the "resolution center." Good grief, I may never buy from Canada again!

Oh, good, as I think every "serious collector" should have a Les Cles.

I love the idea of the keys being exact replicas to some of the most wonderful buildings in Paris, but I'd just love to know which one of them opens the doors to Notre Dame, though.

Lily, not sure I count as "serious collector"--more like "serious addict." That said--keys to Notre Dame? But surely ND is always open?:smile1: Thanks for the enabling on LC!:D

OK...now I'm in trouble, and it's all Lily's fault (you too lolakitten!!! I just went on ebay, and a seller has a scarf in the cw I've always wanted. It's Beloved India, and the number is 230495290210. What do you think? Anyone have this? The same seller has one I've never seen before, and the design looks quite intriguing to me (so "not me", but intriguing)...it's called "Les Parisiens". I can almost hear the scarfie's rolling their eyes, saying "Of course hclub...that's a classic!". Kind of unusual, and I like the colors. Lolakitten, I love the one you're bidding on, and Lily, I have to research yours, as I've never heard of it (no surprise there, as you are a true collector!).

Hclub and Lolakitten, I passed on Beloved India in June at my local H (think it was brown and dark denim and red...), and have sort of been kicking myself ever since. I think this is how I know I need a scarf...if I'm truly obsessed when I don't get it! (So......:graucho:go get it!!) And Les Parisiens, I think, is like BI, in that it's unique...not the usual H scarf, different colors, great pics, etc....kind of hip, too, I think

The dibs system is nice :)
I am watching a long time hunt of mine - Mosaique # 320574853237.

Wow, I am so in awe of you ladies in the 3 digits!!!!

Hi Lola...we are at your command...dibs have been uttered!

Hclub--Well, Ms. Goldie is "devine"...looking forward to seeing your new hair!

Welcome back Pauillac...auditors and lawyers....paybacks (for that little trip to LV!) are hell!

and now, far too quiet in the playroom and it's time for baths, books, and bed for my little ragamuffins--so long furbies!

I know that LGA has Beloved India (I could never get over those big elephant toes even though I love the overall feel of it.) I think she might have Les Parisiens too, which I think was issued in 2006 as part of "Paris in the Air." Beloved India was issued in 2008. I'M SURE THE LITTLE SCARF PIGGY, VICKYB, HAS BOTH!:D

Trophees, features the stunning mosaic patterns in the Duomo San Marco, as well as the four bronze horses, captured in Constantinople, brought back to Venice and installed above the portico of San Marco (just copies are up there today though. The originals have been moved to a museum to preserve them.)

I actually had the scarf once but didn't like the colorway and sold it. Now, I want it back!

You're half right, lily - I have the BI in the cashmere GM, but do NOT have Les Parisiens. I love Trophees and have flirted with it a
few times, but it was never quite the right color. Hope you get it!:p

LGA--Hi Trip!--I'm still only in double digits....trying so hard to be selective!! Sometimes I think the browsing is half the fun! But so far, I still love and wear each of my careful little buys...I maybe have one that I'm sort of "meh" about....perhaps I need a furbie scarf swap for (what should be my) "dearly departed."

I know, hclub! It seems I'm always out with Bonbon and running stupid errands in the afternoon, which seems to be prime
Crafty time. Today I had to go to the bank, drugstore, and hardware store, and it was hot and humid. I wanted Bonbon to push ME in the
stroller, but she said there were child labor laws or something...

Anyway, I did reward her with a quick visit to H after I finished everything else. She got to visit with George, and I returned the two
pochettes, which she flatly refuses to wear. And now I have a store credit, so my next scarf will be less than half price, according to
Hermès math.:yahoo:

If you come to NY, you absolutely MUST let me know, and save some time for us!

I have a few that I never seem to wear too, scarf mama. When I started buying them on eBay, I went a little crazy, and bought
everything I even remotely thought I might like. Now I'm being more selective and buying less. But more often than not, I favor the
older designs over the new ones, and some really great oldies turn up on the bay...

LGA, with the one I don't wear, it was a twofer from JB in the UK--love the one, but the "B" scarf was a bonus...can't imagine I'll wear it because the color will wash me out. I love the older designs most of all--\I have a thing for sort of heavily detailed designs. Seems that earlier this summer there was just a treasure trove of the older (much older!) designs. I missed on most of them, but they'll surely come up again (:graucho: and I'll be waiting!!)

I picked up a 1951 Grygkar French Foreign Legion most recently--it is in the "to frame" stack awaiting my next burst of Crafty energy and trip to the framer.
