I sent an inquiry into Coach regarding my 3 orders (all of which say backordered). I inquired about the ship date, particularly given all items are showing online with "item will ship 5/14" under them. I was told that all of my items are backordered at least till the end of May and will ship at that time if inventory is available.
I ended up going into my local store today. I saw the two Rogues I was interested in. I'm glad I saw them in person. While nice, they didn't scream at me like I had thought. The army green rogue is not much different, if at all, from Olive. It is MUCH lighter too, which is great (confirmed that the construction of the bag has been modified to make it lighter) but then why keep the $795 price point?
I ended up cancelling my online order. I personally think I got swept up in the whole secret launch, etc. and put orders in on a whim. I really don't get the online order inventory thing though. In bad taste, IMO.

I went to my store last night and tried out the black Rogue with patches and immediately felt the change in the weight. The top handles are also thinner. I still plan on getting it but who knows about the items I ordered online. My SA put in the order for the card case and I ordered the red duffle. I don't think I'll be too disappointed if I don't get those since I really don't need another bag. Their system makes no sense.


How was the bag lighter, did you notice any changes in leather or suede quality? I'm wondering where that weight is coming off of! Is it all the new colours or whatever is in store at this point too?
 
I think it was during the Black Friday sale. I had checked out prior to someone else here (I am definitely NOT begrudging that person! I'm glad they got the bag!!), but her order was fulfilled first, and then the bag ran out of supply so I didn't get one.

I'm still pissed off at FOS because they mysteriously decided not to refund my money for the bag in $hitty condition that I returned and chose not to get a replacement for. It's been at JAX for a month now, and when I called, they had no record of any refund in progress.
What terrible customer service! I am sorry they are treating you this way. I thought I just have bad luck. [emoji20]

The 'unfair order filling' has been going on since before the Peanuts fiasco.....but the Peanuts fiasco was where it was really noticed. Some people who ordered early had orders cancelled, but other orders that were put in at a later date were fulfilled.....that was so messed up.

As I previously mentioned the top handles are thinner. I think the suede might not be as thick in the slip pockets. I grabbed an older rogue that I knew had been on display for a while and tried comparing them. I didn't get a chance to compare the hardware. My SA didn't notice until I pointed it out to her. But this observation is coming from someone who's seen the changes from first gen to the last rogue I purchased which was melon.

Maybe @Teagaggle can provide specific details since her SA confirmed that changes were made to purposely lighten the bag.

Fantastic. So Coach has a history of pulling this s*** too?? Disney did that with a Dooney & Bourke release last year, just cancelled orders with no warning.
 
Well crap, just checked my order status for my purple rogue 25 and the site says my order can't be found!

That's been happening off and on. Don't worry about it, mine's done it a few times and when I called they can see the order on their end. By the way I just chatted with a rep to see if I could upgrade to overnight and she said yes but it would put me back down at the bottom of the list. So I wouldn't make any changes at this point!

That's good to know, I emailed them about it. Yes, probably best to just leave it be and hopefully all my orders get fulfilled.
 
OMG. I should have just taken my SA up on pre-order with them. Now I've already got a bag ordered through the website and now I have no idea if I will actually get it or not. :sad:
I'm so crazy I'm thinking about double ordering a few things. I don't trust coach after the Peanuts fiasco. I've never pre-ordered from Neiman Marcus before so hoping those don't get canceled too.

I didn't say my SA confirmed, just that it was confirmed. I know that seems very sketchy, but I've actually had folks here on TPF who frequent the same store "report back" to the store if I've revealed too much on something here. So much for freedom of speech. But I digress...
ANYWHO...I agree that the handles are thinner. They are still substantial though so that isn't necessarily a bad thing in my opinion. The suede did seem a lighter pill, if that makes sense. However, the ones that I was looking at had a printed interior and I'm not sure the printing on the suede could have come through as well had the suede been thicker. Just a thought. I guess my bigger point is if the leather is thinner and the handles are thinner why is the bag still the same price?
Sorry for throwing my sour opinion of this particular situation and product launch on you all. That was never my intention.
