Hey guys!

I found Leo et Violette from this thread, and got the Le Gianni Baguette bag from them recently. I was actually pretty disappointed in the quality. My bag arrived and it looked great from the front. On the back is a different story. There was a small scratch already and little small white marks in the leather all along the back. Did any of you guys have issues with the quality like this? Is this what I should expect from a non-luxury brand? All I want is a quality purse that won't break the bank!

My worry would be this is an indication of things to come - more than the way it looks now.. It looks like the leather is not dyed all the way through, so even with a neural cream the scuffs/scratches won't blend in. If it was reduced for the appearance that may be another matter, but full-price? :nono:

IMO, the standard expected for a non-luxury brand bag should the same a as luxury when new, as in, it should appear pristine. There are other things to keep in mind, but that it should look new when new (and at full pice) is not negotiable.

I have 2 Dahlias, I think they're all made of the same type of leather, "liege"?

Their quality standards have some misses, though it's not terrible and it's still better than some luxury brands imo. I had issues with the edge coating as well. The hardware also scratched terribly, but I actually like the look of it on it on the Dahlia, so not a minus for me.

Polene's quality, especially leather quality is better though, so I won't be repurchasing although I think L&V is more elegant

Has anyone else experienced bobobark bags? I started seeing more of those "in the wild" - both bebe and bobo. I even asked a person wearing a Bobobark as a backpack how she liked it. She was very gracious and showed me the inside of the bag, commenting on how it was perfect for a super rainy weather here. The things she didn't enjoy was the orange lining (personal preference) and that anything placed in the middle of the bag when her laptop and water bottle were already there had to be flat to fit. It looked very chic on her and seemed well made, and as advertised, rain was just streaking down the cork without soaking it.
I do not recommend Bobobark. Two defective bags in less than 1 year and the second time, they would not honor their “lifetime guaranty” - would only give me a credit to allow me to buy a new bag at a discount… Why would I spend no more good money after two bad experiences?

I used to like Radley, London. The older bag that I had in smooth leather was light, durable, well made. One of my best friends loved it, so I gave it to her a few years ago. She still uses it.

It is not significantly less expensive than any H bag. And, it is beautiful. I am contemplating this purchase. :)

Just came across this brand, Carbotti. I ordered the Hera bag that looks like a mini Kelly, but with more curvaceous flap and no 'belts'. I like mini Kelly but I don't love it enough to spend 20.000€ für it on pre-loved market. Carbotti bags are fully hand-made in Italy and only made to order. I chose the bag pictured here with fuchsia suede lining. The price is excellent. Can't wait until I receive the bag.

I had the same experience, was very disappointed with the quality of the Bobobark bag and there was no option to return or exchange it. Gave it away!

So I did buy the Sabrina Zeng hammock bag in Camel from Neimans. The quality is there. It’s a great bag with a fun silhouette. I put the essentials in and it had a great drape, exactly like the photos. I carried it all weekend and really liked the way it draped as a crossbody but also was well fitting as a shoulder bag when I had a big coat on. My clunky sun glass case fit but required me to adjust the length of the strap which was fine. The stitching is consistent and quality. The dust bag has a nice flocked fleece interior. The lining of the bag is soft and well made with a tight leather pocket. The lamb skin is soft, not as soft as my Celine trio, but it’s also pretty durable and doesn’t seem like it’ll scratch easily. The color is a smidge more orangey than appeared on line but still a great brown. The zipper is a bit rough but slides well. All in all a keeper that I think I’ll carry a lot without worry it’ll be easily damaged. I really loved the bum bag trend and this feels like an elevated version of that as a close fitting crossbody.

Hi! Just saw the bags earlier while browsing Loewe and thought the hammock pleated bag looks super cute! How is yours holding up after a year? Do the pleats straighten out after much use? I’d love if you could share some photos. Thank you!

I am in love with Songmont. I first got their Luna bag (worn 4 ways in black) and loved the quality so much that I got their small Duffle (in pearl grey). The small Duffle smelled great and every stitch was perfect. The feel of the leather was amazing.
