Guess I pass, it's not like I "need" a new bag
Do any of us ever "need" a new bag? Life's just sweeter when one happens to...fall into our laps! :P

Yeah, I hate to say it but, if you can't see them in person and don't want the hassle of a possible return, then it's probably best to hang on for more opinions from the tpf community. Bags are so personal that I bet we have members who have these and love them. Hopefully we get to hear more thoughts on this because those designs are really tempting. :)

As promised to @Fancyfree, mentioning Silent Goods here. Years ago, I backed their KS campaign after seeing their mission regarding being committed to transparency and sustainability of handbag production. My backing was a briefcase for a husband which despite years of abuse held up really well because leather is very durable. I finally took a plunge and got a soft bag in tan for myself and I love it. It is a rather expensive indie brand but the quality is impeccable and a design is both classy and practical. In photos it compares to MM Juliet midi in Tuscania leather. For MM fans, it's about the same height as Juliet midi, but much wider, however, if you wear it with unclasped side buckles it expands into a tote when worn as a shoulder/crossbody, thus becoming taller and flattening. You can also keep sides buckled and it keeps more of a satchel shape. I am a sucker for this design similar to BV convertible as it is very versatile and can be worn multiple ways. It fits a decent amount of stuff too - in the photo I have a paperback, an iPad mini, sunnies, sanitizer wipes, and a wallet, and as you can see there is a ton more room!

I'm in love with their chestnut color. How soft are these bags?

I wanted to mention French company Le Tanneur here - very popular in France, founded in 1898... I particularly love their Madeleine hobo bag, made in France of taurillon leather. It just seems like something Romy Schneider or Charlotte Rampling would carry to me. It's so pretty in this "acajou" color!

Apologies for the multiple posts about this company/handbag, but I just wanted to point out that the Taurillon leather used for the Madeleine bags is from Tannerie Rémy Carriat in Espelette, France - the same supplier of Hermès' Clémence leather.

I love my new bag!
It's really beauitful. I've started checking them out and I love a lot of their designs. .

Finally got the time to make a review of my Kaai Pyramid bag in cognac!

About my previous bags
My previous workbag was just a canvas, branded with my husband's optician shop logo. Very NOT safe at all to carry my Macbook pro AND you have to combine it with a handbag and then also a bag to carry your lunch... But it was light and it was what I had laying around, you know how it goes. Before that, I had a messenger bag from Longchamp which is actually a men's bag: Le Foulonné. I stopped wearing it because it was not practical and also very manly. I also have a Louis Vuitton Neverfull somewhere but it has no inner pockets whatsoever so really not practical.
A colleague of mine told me about the brand Kaai which is an Antwerp (Belgium) based brand. It's relatively new (almost 5 years old) and it was founded by two women. They had to travel a lot for work and did not find a good travel/work bag.

About the bag
I considered two models: the midi pyramid and the pyramid, the last one is the biggest. Taking into account that I'm a bit of a gadget freak and that I would be buying a new laptop in the near future, I opted for the biggest model which fits a 15,6" laptop. I've bought it in November 2022. I bought it in the Antwerp store, as I'm from Belgium but you can easily buy it on their own online store as well.
I've been using it nonstop now and I really love it! Here are some pictures of what I put inside (A LOT!) and the inner pockets which are very handy. Also, when it rains, the water just runs off the bag. You don't have to apply any crèmes or anything to the bag because it has a special coating. It also stays upright when you put it down. Might sound stupid but I really like that. I've had many compliments from colleagues and even from strangers, asking me about the brand. The only downturn might be the weight, although it doesn't bother me at all. You cannot have a sturdy handbag without it being heavy in my opinion.

Pro's and Cons
+ Lovely durable design
+ Rainproof
+ Stays upright when you put it down
+ Many inner pockets that help you stay organised
+ Laptop is really well protected
- Rather heavy
- There is no vegan option (Yet?) but doesn't bother me

Below you can find some pictures of the inside, what I put in the bag just to give you an idea and a picture where I'm wearing it to give you an idea of the size.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Hello, does anyone own an RSVP Paris bag in grained leather? I've just placed an order on 24S (they currently have spring sale on selected items including RSVP Paris' bags). I've just ordered a bordeaux golden eyes bag in grained leather. I wonder about the wear and tear of this type of leather since it's supposed to be the most durable of all.
Thank you!

I have an RSVP in the smooth leather, which is less sturdy than grained but has held up beautifully. I don’t use it very often but I would guess the grained version will be just fine.

Also they have a great repair policy.

I remembered that a friend of mine has one and shot her an email asking if she'd recommend that I buy one. She responded really quickly:

"I got the Naomi Bag directly via Instagram. It came wondrfully wrapped but the bag was not immediately worth this price point. The leather felt like faux and the interior partition was a plastic clear sheet that got fingerprints on it when I reached into the bag to get my things. I sold it at a small loss after only using it two times.
They later gifted me their Atlas Bag to feature on my Instagram via my management. It's a really unique style and I have kept it. It is boxy and the top panel is smaller than the width of the bag, which feels like a design mistake. The interior has no pockets. The colors are also really dull compared to online pics so I had to use filters when posting on my Insta to match the website colors.
The unique panels on the front and back make it so individual and interesting looking that I keep it just for that "pop" when I want to stand out. For this the bag is perfect. Nobody else is carrying it.
The language in their kit and in my management brief suggests this is premium grade leather. I don't know enough to say but my other bags at this price point are from Aspinal and that leather seems far superior.
You should get it for interesting design because I know you like special designs but don't expect it to feel like butter leather. It is good not amazing.
"

Hope that helps a bit. Sorry it's not an entirely glowing review. :hrmm:
That's so disappointing to learn! I was obsessed with some of Mlouye's designs. I might just snag a more ornate piece from them, then.
