I've done a search and can't find anything on this.....
OK, so it's my day off and I've spent the majority of it trolling on the bay...
I've found two 'intriguing' looking older ('05) finds, but before I even get them authenticated, want to see if the Coach creeds are even legit sounding first. Both are smaller 'evening' style 'exotic' bags, and both have a letter within the style number, ie 8A66, which I've never seen before.
Did Coach ever incorporate a letter within the style number?
TIA.

I have an older bag that is style number 8A03. So, yes, they have done that. This bag is about 5 years old.

Thanks for the reply! After I posted this I did finally find another post from Hyacinth (Coach Authenticator) that in 2005 before Coach decided to convert to using a five digit style number, they did make some of their bags w/ a number/letter style number format. Good to know!

It stands for January 2009. Coach does do the letters to represent each month starting with A and ending with M. They do not use I for some reason. I have no clue why they do it. So
A= January
B=February
C=March
D=April
E= May
F=June
G=July
H=August
J=September
K=October
L=November
M=December.

Then of course the number stands for the year. So 01=2001 and so on.

My best guess is that I can easily be confused for a 1. But that's just a guess.

Just to clarify, "01" is not the code for 2001. The zero wasn't added until 2004 so year codes 00, 01,02, and 03 were never used.

I have a Garcia Leather Shoulder Flap with a "Z" before the style #. Does this mean anything?
M1069-Z17203

I think that means the bag was made for a discount retailer like TJ Maxx or Marshalls. Where did you get it? Is it berry color? And does it have an "X" in the upper right corner of the creed patch? That bag didn't come in that color when those bags were originally released in the boutique, and the style number is also different from the original, but the style looks the same.

Yes, it's berry and it has an "X". It looks like it was a re-release of the original much like the Julianne and Sabrina were for Nordys last year.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask ..What about P6L 9951 . It's a patricia's legacy, right? If the first letter stands for the month, then what about P? 6 for 1996, L for factory code. Where is this bag made in? thanks

( sorry, I tried to edit the previous post but i couldn't find the edit button though this new post has one.)

Both P and N as the first digit (the month code) in a serial number indicate a probable fake. We've seen a VERY few genuine bags from non-US plants (mostly Italy) with N codes although plenty of fakes also start with N, but anything with P especially in a 9951 Patricia's Legacy bag is 99.9 percent sure to be fake.

Does anyone know what an "E" at the end of a style number on a creed might mean? I saw a siggy crossbody/shoulder bag at the outlet. It has tattersall lining, and the style number on the creed didn't have an "F" in front of it....but it did end with an "E". The Made in China tag doesn't have the white dot on it, that usually indicates MFF/MFD (made for discounters Z-creeded items). The creed indicates that it was made in 2011, so it's a newer production. The "E" is in the same place as the "M" might be on bags that were made for Macy's such as the recent re-releases of older styles. Any ideas what this "E" represents?

Here's a pic of the bag and its creed (NMA): http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-BORDE...-LARGE-SHOULDER-BAG-F18797-BNWT-/150675688598
Here's another set of pics showing the creed on a light-colored version of this bag (NMA): http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages...6324,511296149&formats=0,0,0,0,0,0,0&format=0

This particular style of bag has been re-released frequently at the outlets, judging by the variety of production years on the creeds of bags on 'bay. Most of them have solid-colored linings. The 2011 edition is the only "run" I've seen with tattersall lining, at least on the 'bay.

Older version of this bag with fabric accents instead of patent - style 13674 (NMA): http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-COACH-13674-SIGNATURE-STRIPE-CONVERTIBLE-BAG-/230676575451
Older FP version with patent accents - style 12825 (NMA): http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-12825...-Shoulder-Convertible-Handbag-C-/270837751299

I bought a denim patchwork coach purse from an estate sale. The number is F045-5774. Been looking online for a while now, just want to know if it's real or fake. I have pictures on my phone, but I'm unsure on how to upload them here.

Style number 5774 does not belong to a Patchwork bag.
