I just got a bag that has "X" stamped on the creed. Is it authentic? Will it affect warranty?

X just means that it was sent to a discount store and it will NOT affect the warranty.

Congrats on your shoulder bag!!!!!! You will LOVE her! I have one in Pond and absolutely adore her. I'm usually a bigger bag person, but the shoulder bag is actually a perfect size. It holds a LOT (seriously, i can stuff things like water bottles in there) but doesn't feel like a big bag on. I did actually buy the black version at one time and I thought it was lovely, but decided the contrast stitching made it too casual for my needs so I ended up with the pond instead.

I understand it to go in line 1, 2, 3 with the alphabet a, b, c -- just omit the I.

so:

A=1=January
B=2=February
C=3=March
D=4
E=5
F=6
G=7
H=8
J=9
K=10
L=11
M=12

Same here...I have learned SO MUCH on this forum and today I 'decoded' a creed for a friend who is wanting her first Coach (after seeing mine, lol). She was like ...you could hear crickets chirping in the background for like 3 seconds...and then I had to explain that I really take my Coach seriously and then it was all good

E is the Month Code
9 is the Year - 1999
Z is the Factory Code

Yours is a Soho Lightweight "Waverly".

Nice looking bag and they really ARE lightweight.
