Until I actually see Steel in person, I'd say anthracite (but I'm biased). Did we ever determine if it exists in the RH Day style?

No Anthraday here in Paris !!!
My SA put me on the list but the bag never appeared...
but I've got a call for the Plomb which is very close to Anthra belong her...
I guess I have to go and see the color IRL or go for a worldwide hunt of AnthraDay ...

I've also seen a Steel City that's almost like the SS 06 Gray...an elephant gray but very flat. If I find a Work or Weekender in that same shade then I am so there...but the dark Steel color just doesn't do anything for me.

Great comparison pictures Nicole. I can see the difference. It almost looks metallic. Is that the flash or does it have a sort of metallic appearance?

it's not metallic like the pewter, but in the sunlight and in flash, it picks up those hues. does that make sense? i think it might be the blue undertones that make it appear that way as well. here's another pic:

wow^ it's beautiful in the day style. Yes, I agree w/nicole that it really doesn't look metallic, though just a very tad bit under certain light conditions! Mostly it is a very nice dark charcoaly grey w/blue undertones as many has mentioned. THe sides of the tassels also look dark blue so helps to bring out the slight dk blue undertones of the bag.

Thanks so much for this comparison thread. I am glad I chose Anthracite now rather than waiting for Steel. I am one to not have a black bag in my wardrobe and I love the multi-faceted look of Anthracite.

Interesting pics! Esp to see the variation of colour! ICB - that city is really light! My steele p/t is more like Nicole's shade - a dark charcoal. It may lack the gleam of athra but I'm loving the subtleness of this shade.

Is Anthricate more of a Blue or Blackish color? I have seen it posted in both places in the color forums?

And how about Plomb? Blackish, Blueish, or maybe something else? Grey?

I am about to purchase my first Bal bag ( a City) and am leaning towards Black, as I wear a lot of Black and this would be an everyday bag for me.

But I am also liking the looks of Plomb and Anthricate, a little different than just basic Black.

I am torn. Any advice?

Oh, and I have checked the color refernce threads on here (many times). And looked at tons of photos on here. It is just so hard to tell from photos.

I was just looking for some input from anyone that has seen all the colors IRL.

I have a plomb city and it is a great neutral, in some lights its almost black and then in other lights it is grey and sometimes I can see blue in it.

I havent actually seen an anthracite but I think in some lights it has a teal/green/black appearance.
