I actually laid it on a navy towel earlier (trying to protect the bottom!) just because it was the closest thing around and it did take on the color of the towel. I was surprised! I think this color is a lot like Ink in that it is a chameleon... I love it more every minute! Sometimes it looks black, somtimes charcoal, sometimes kind of a teal blue, etc.

Yes, I'm in total agreement with the teal blue hue...dark gray with the teal blue wash over it. I'm so, so in love with this color!

My SA sent me these comparison pics yesterday of Steel and Anthracite. They are very similar except the anthracite has a tealish undertone. The City is the Steel and the wallet is anthracite. HTH!

IMO anthra and steel are TOTALLY different! anthra has a lot of teal/greenish undertones and could never be mistaken for black.

plomb/steel is a solid charcoal color, almost like a really really dark pewter. when side by side, black and steel are easy to tell apart. i put a pic below so you can see the difference

here's a pic of anthra too

Thanks for the pics Nicole! So, would you say the Steel is more of a flat color where as the Anthracite has more dimension to it? Also, I think you mentioned before that Steel is matte and Anthracite is shiny. I think the sheen on the Anthracite helps add dimension to the color because it can play with the lighting. I love your AnthraWork!
