I have the money wallet and have been using it for about a month now. I've not experienced scratching (knock wood!), so far, but, just like Cheshire I don't have too many other things floating around freely in there with it. I have a mini coin purse, a packet of tissue, a fan, reading glasses and sunglasses.

I LOVE the money wallet!

I loove my money wallet. I have no scratches on mine because I purposefully do not carry sharp or rough edged objects in the bag's main compartment. The problem is usually keys but I keep those in the front pocket. Other sharp things you may want to organize, like cheshire said, into other bags so they're not scratching your other stuff.

My only advice: get a dark color, wallets get a lot of wear and tear from constant use, especially around the corners...black is fine, it's what I got but might be hard to find in a large crowded bag like the work, plomb is a nice choice like murasaki said.

^^thanks, Bridget!
I love, love, love your aqua coin wallet! And you got the VG and VIF, too?!?  I think I may need to follow your example and make sure my next wallet is a colorful one. :smile1:

I am considering getting a Balenciaga Le Compagnon Wallet.

I would like to know

1) Is is thick/bulky?

I like my wallets long and largish but not too bulky.

2) Is it functional or more-so for looks?

Of course I want a hot looking wallet, but it will be used every day, so I want to be sure it is functional as well as stylish

3) How does the leather compare to the Bal bags?

Is the leather on the wallets just as nice, or is it sturdier and stiffer? Just curious.

TIA

Ok, I still get confused about which wallet the le compagnon refers to. Are you considering the zip around, or the flap one? I have the flap wallet (aka money wallet). I LOVE it. It's the perfect size. I've seen the zip around IRL, and it's just too large for me. To answer your questions about the money:
1. NOPE def. not thick and bulky, but it is long. However, not too long to fit in my first with room to spare.
2. SO functional, yet gorgeous too!! It's the most gorgy wallet i've owned, but also the most wonderfully functional. It's so easy to use, and perfect for everyday. I can't say enough about all the card slots (8 total) as well as 4 long slots, a zip coin area (very roomy but not bulky) and the center compartment is very roomy and falls open so you can see everything w/o your stuff falling out.
3. Leather on wallets is just as nice, so prone to scratches. But I apple guarded mine, and have been using everyday since Sept, and it still looks great (I have it in black)

1) I would not say it is thick, unless you stuff it full of stuff, but I would say it is pretty bulky. Takes up way more room than a Money wallet.

2) Hmmm. I guess it is OK function-wise, but I find the Money wallet to be a lot more practical, since it has more pockets and closes with a simple flap as opposed to a zipper.

3) I really think it depends on the particular wallet.

IMHO, the Money wallet is a lot more versatile keeps better organization. Hope this helps!

i have the le compagnon zippy, love it!! Its big and has heaps card slots!!! I wouldn't say its bulky unless you stuff it with a lota paper. The leather on mine is TDF!!!!

I haven't seen a money wallet irl, so i can't comment on that...

i too know what you mean and like with wallets. i have tended to go for men's gucci wallets since they are long and thin. but since i got the money, first in tomato and now in magenta w/gsh, i love it too. the gh will make it stand out but amazingly are not bulky/thick. the leather is just as good as the bags. the compartments are perfect and yes it is still fashionable. good luck!

Not sure if this will help, but I considered both the Compagnon and the Money when I was looking for a wallet, and I opted for the Money. The Compagnon was far too large, IMO, and I found it annoying to have to zip/unzip 3 sides just to get in. Nor did I need so many card slots. The Money wallet is the perfect size - large enough, but not too big... can be carried by itself (if you have a slim phone) but can also fit inside the first with room to spare for other stuff.

-Not too thick/bulky and VERY user-friendly. One snap gets in and out, and there's a zippered slot for coins, but it doesn't look overstuffed.

-Totally useful. Wallet opens up wonderfully so everything is accessible and visible.

-Leather? Mine is the most lovely specimen of Violet. Leather varies just like it does on bags, so I'm sure some are more luscious than others. It's not drapey like the bags because it has more structure, but it definitely has Bal allure and integrity.

Good luck finding the right one for you!!

I have the same one as shown above and love it!! This is the one that snaps shut ... it's not the zip one. It's not too bulky and yet fits alot (tons of little pockets to stash stuff) ... so it's definitely functional.

Ok, to clarify - I am referring to the button/magnet clip wallet (non-zip)

Diabro obviously used the wrong name for it?

From all of the comments I think the Money is on the money lol...

Thanks for all the info

PS - sunny07 thats the exact colour I want too... LOVE IT!

I have a blueberry money wallet and I use it every day. It looks great, is the most useful wallet I've ever had, easy to use, great size, looks great carried too, I can totally recommend it!
