Found this on another thread...thought you girls would find it interesting.

I was surprised over Ralph Lauren, anyone else surprised by anything?

I am surprised by Ralph Lauren too. I wonder if it has anything to do with his ad right before Downton Abbey starts. I have to say watching him make the Ricky handbag made me take another look at it. Just looking though. It is very pretty but not really my style.

Funny...I thought the same thing. His ads before Downtown are gorgeous!

megt10 - thank you! Or maybe not!!! :graucho: I googled South Coast Plaza and I think I visited their briefly a couple of years ago. I was in Anaheim at a convention - got bored and went on a shopping expedition. My SO was with me and he had a Nordstrom's addiction :D (thanks to you know who). We covered every Nordstrom's Rack and Nordstroms we could locate. He had to ship some of his purchases home. :lolots: .I usually travel to Long Beach in January - but decided not to this year. Glad I didn't - now I can plan a trip to take my granddaughter to Disneyland.

You are wonderful for taking you MIL . Don't know about you ladies, but I am quickly approaching that age and I hope someone is willing to include me on these types of excursions. <lol>

SCP is worth the drive. I am a huge fan of buying and having it shipped to my home. I usually do that when I travel.

I am my MIL's full-time caretaker these days and I just adore her. She loves to shop and can't go unless I take her. I am the only one that she would allow to help her into the bathroom. So if she doesn't go with me then she doesn't go. We will have a girls afternoon out! We use to be able to shop a lot longer, but it is harder as we get older.

I know exactly what you mean, meg. My Mom doesn't have mobility issues, but at age 90 she obviouslyno longer drives, so getting to the mall is complicated for her. As a result, she rarely bothers to go. But... if I suggest to her that we hit the stores together, she gets all excited, and we have a blast. She's the only one I can trust to tell me if something looks good on me (and I do the same for her).

When we lived in Salt Lake City, her condo was 3 blocks from Nordstrom. We used to go there a lot... Neal used to joke that if we hadn't been there in a month, they'd send each of us a Get Well card! And we could spend hours... but those days are over. Two hours, and then lunch, is about our limit.

I didn't realize you took care of your mil full time, how good of you, especially with all your own issues. I think i'd be at SCP with her as often as possible!
