I'm here too. During my 25+ years of working life I never had a handbag that cost more than a few hundred dollars. I had one black and one brown for winter and one light colored one for spring/summer which I would only replace when they got too worn. Several years ago I started falling in love with some premium desiger bags and now I have a YSL muse in black, Chloe Marcie in whiskey (I think that is the name of the color), Balenciaga City RGGH in a purplish color (don't remember the name) and yesterday my DH surprised me with a Longchamp Gatsby in blue. My problem is that I am often afraid to use my bags and use less expensive ones as my everyday bags. I used a DVF Stephanie that I got on sale at Nordstrom rack as my fall/winter everyday bag and now I am using a Vince Camuto bag as my everyday bag. When I went to Europe on vacation a few months ago I bought a $30 bright red patent bag because I was afraid to mess up my nicer bags. I have to get over this. I am about to be an empty nester (DD is going to college in the fall) so I am hoping I will be able to get involved in some new activities, dress up a little more and use my bags.

nascar- Awesome pictures. I love learning something new.
I never really took pics until I got smart phones. Now I end up taking pics of everything. LOL!

Oh, what fun! Thanks for sharing!!!
I remember hearing about Kyle Busch...I wonder if some criticism is just jealousy. He started racing quite young, no? Hope you got your bag back. LOL!
Great pics!!!
Total jealousy! He started racing so young that nascar had to change their rules because of it. And they didn't change them in his favor.

Great pics!! Is it Kyle on the first pic? :)
The first pic (the Monster Energy car) is Kyle's car in the Nationwide series. In the Cup series (the top level), he drives the #18 m&ms car. :)

Thanks very much! - My love for bags started with LV and now I'm back :D did have Hermes Birkin and Bolide.. some Gucci Prada Bottega V Marc Jacobs Mulberry and Chanel.

Thank you very much! :smile1:

Dooooling at the Dune city
New blue Bow, you and the bag looking hot :woohoo:
Ok, I now have shoulder pain. I've carried the blue bow for several days in a row. I've spent hours at the mall the last two days. I think I need to take a break from it.
But such good retail therapy!!!!!!! 2 pair of shoes, but now I have another pair and another bag that I can't get off my mind.
I need to stay home for a while! (and stay offline)

Yes, you need to get over this. What good are the premium ones doing in a closet? They want to be used. You spent good money on them. Get some use out of them!
I felt the same way, though, a few years ago. Now I use my good ones all the time. I just rotate them a little so they don't get worn out. :D
I work at home a lot, but I still switch out bags even though I don't really go anywhere. Eye candy.

Oh...wear the good ones. You only live once!

This is my very first post.
I have been in love with this forum and I think this thread in particular is a fantastic idea! And please please count me in.
Now, I have a dilemma and would like to know your opinions.
For my b-day plus thirtie-sh wedding anniversary I would like to have my FIRST designer bag.
Basically, I could go for one of the three options:
A buy first class in a shop (this would probably take some time and I´m not a very patient person)
B buy a pre-owned first class
C buy a Furla, RM,Marc Jacobs - still gorgeous bags, but priced more reasonably IMO

So, what do you think? All responses will be much appreciated.

I prefer buying new bags myself. I would go with what ever bag makes you smile the most. Don't buy something just because it costs more. Go with your gut and get what you love and will really wear.

As skyqueen says Oh la la.. And That is just you NAS! - same color as bal dune!? buy it and send Dune City to Denmark :roflmfao:
Funny you should mention that! I do think the Dune needs to be put on the chopping block. I'd rather have the SF! Or maybe my taupe Stam needs to go. I don't know. Something's gotta give here.:laugh::laugh:

First of all ... WELCOME!!!!!!!

Option A or B, I think.

I know option C is fine, but since you even have A or B in your thoughts, I think you would not feel fulfilled if you did option C. (I assume you mean Marc by Marc Jacobs in option C and not the premium MJ line.)

If you go with B, just be extremely sure what you are getting and be sure of the return policy.

Premium designer sales are about to happen. Actually, Nordstroms has their presale going. Neimans will have some good top designer bags on sale soon. The problem with this is these bags have been sitting around for months, have been handled, sometimes have shelf wear. So if you order something on presale or sale, make sure the SA verifies it is not damaged (fingernail scratches, shelf wear, etc). Just ask them.

Personally, I stick with option A. If timing isn't good financially but I just "have" to have something, I just charge it and pay it off as fast as I can. (even sell something to help out with it)
