Colortransfer on white /light colored bags

Seems like it can take a while before the medium messenger in Pale pink comes in, so I'm considering buying a white bag. I think it will look great combined with both pastels and regular colors, and I haven't got any bags in that color.

But...What about colortransfer? Have you had it? What to do to avoid it? Or is a white bag a terrible idea...? Thinking about the medium selma messenger or the regular Selma.

I got the medium greenwich in white. Used the spray from MK and so far so good. I've used it with old black jeans, blue and white shorts. I think the important thing is to use some type of protectant prior to using. I used my luggage Frankie the other day with denim., there was blue transfer on it. I totally freaked out, but when I got home, wiped her down and the marks came right off. Thank goodness I treated the bag. I now treat and condition all my bags prior to using them.

Thanks, good to know!

I have a white one before and I did use protective spray on it but it still end up getting color transfer from my jeans which made me really sad. I ended up washing it with a wet towel and a little bit of mild soap. It removed 80% of the jeans color transfer but if you look carefully you can still see the blue on the white.

I had some colour transfer from my jeans today on my pale pink cross body  the Jean are really old so this shouldn't have happened. I have sum leather wipes with almond oil and they have removed most of the colour transfer.

UPDATE: I'm so impressed with these leather cleaner wipes. The colour transfer from my jeans is all gone without spoiling the Saffiano!! Yay. The only thing is some of the stitching has absorbed some colour from my jeans on the back of the bag. But who's gonna see that....

That's great good to hear that! Which brand of leather wipes do you use?

Good to heat here that the colour transfer has come off!!!
One of the SA told me not to use Leather Cleaner too often as it strips off the coating on the leather.

Good to hear, I'll use the wipes sparingly. Have emailed MK Europe. Cust service to see what they recommend. Will let you girls know what feedback I get. I hadn't even thought about this issue when buying the pink! Now I come to think of it, some of the stitching on my dark khaki looks like its absorbed colour from my black coat. Although no transfer on the actual bag.

You all have just verified what I already know, and exactly why I won't be buying any light colored bags, or shoes for that matter, especially white. I would have them ruined in less than a month! lol! Too expensive and I don't like worrying about it. As if we don't have to worry about? That's all I need to add to the pot! As colorful as I get, is navy blue or silver. lol! I have been looking for a coral bag, which I would love, but I know it will be ruined in no time at all! I guess if you just wear them for special occasions and don't use them often, they will be fine. I don't think light colors will hold up well for everyday use. IMHO

This was the feedback from MK that I had on colour transfer...
"If a denim item has transferred its colour to the bag, I would suggest you contact the retailer of the clothing item, as it is the one losing colour.

Regarding the bag I will advise to take it to a leather specialist and check with them if there is something that can be done.

Kindly note denim clothing is likely to transfer, which will be more noticeable in a light colour such as pale pink than a dark colour one.

It has nothing to do with the leather being treated or not"

So basically it comes down to not wearing jeans with light colored bags. I don't see that as a problem.
