Ooooh the Galliera....now it just needs to come in the Damier Ebene!!!

LOVE your Mini Lin Speedy inch37! And your teal Lindsay of course!
There's definitely beauty in both:tup:

I love all of my bags for different reasons. I have Coach, LV, and a miniature Hermes (lol); I even have a variety of Coach silks and Hermes silks. Hermes is my true  but obviously I am not brand exclusive - I am an equal opportunity 'beauty lover'.

I don't have a ginormous bag collection by choice; I have different bags to fit different needs and not much more than that - I love collecting accessories (silk scarves, pochettes, etc) and I spend the money I save on my giant Chanel nail polish and glossimer collection :roflmfao:

I see myself getting a couple more different LV's, I want another Sabrina, and there are two Hermes styles I also want to own. But if I don't get any of those, I will be ok too

I think that if you feel uncomfortable spending X amount of dollars on a certain purse, then don't get it. If you wake up one day and feel that it's not a big deal anymore, go to the store and try the bags on and decide if you want any of them. I have 3 bags in my rotation right now (the others are kind of in hibernation and may get sold)...and ALL of them make my heart sing. The others are in hibernation because they don't, and so I want to find them a new home.

The LV in my photo is the Damier neverfull PM (I like small bags for when I go to work) and it rocks. I can carry a bottle of water with all my other stuff in there and still carry it comfortably on my shoulder. I also like that I can cinch in the top and leave the sides out to give it a new shape...and that I can handcarry it or carry it in the crook of my arm for versatility. I love the Sabrina because of the leather and the bright color. I don't use my slim flap anymore, but I still like it. The other bag I use regularly is my large black patent ergo hobo.

For the Neverfull, the straps don't bother me. But I could see how they would bother others. My other favorite LV bags are the galliera pm and the papillon 30. I also like the Sunset Blvd :D

My favorite LV bag is the Trevi PM in Damier, I have stared at her a couple of times at LV, but I haven't had the willpower to save and spend that much in one time :) Someday I may do it. For now I m staying with coach, as I feel they have better choices, more color and more affordability. For one LV i could buy 3 or more coaches... :) I find it a bit boring that LV has a lot of the same designs, very often the same vachetta leather handles and same colored canvas. I like that coach has leather bags where you can't even tell it's coach... I like to be discreet sometimes...
For Now It's coach for me, i have 2 pradas and one burberry, but that's about all my collection can take for now :)

LV makes leather bags too. Have you seen their Epi line? Suhali? Beautiful styles. Their nimbus bag is made out of the softest leather...

Companies like LV and Hermes, as well as Chanel (and others), make most of their money off the 'boring' designs...i.e. their classic designs. The Speedy, the 2.55, the Birkin and Kelly are all iconic bags that continue to sell well for a reason. They have withstood the test of time! So it's fun when they come out with new stuff, or re-invent their old styles. Hermes just came out with the shoulder Kelly, which is a great spin off the traditional style. The other modification, the SO Kelly, was a great spin too for people that like shoulder bags with slouch but want the Kelly details.

I always wonder about the justification I have seen many many times on tpf: "for the price of one X, I can get 3 or 4 of Y". But if you really love the one X, why would you want 3 other Y instead? To me, it is not about quantity for my money. Not saying that Coach is bad quality...quite the contrary. But if I really really love X, no amount of Y could make me forget that.

I know what you mean Candace, but I guess i haven't fallen in love with anything else than coach and a few pradas... I totally agree that you dont need 3x if you have 1y, LoL, but I personally couldn't find a worty Y, that would satisfy my purse "hunger". The last expensive purse i bought was $700 and ended up at the outlets for $179 -2 weeks later, so I m not believing much in a HG Y, at least not with Coach. I was thinking of selling off everything and buying this one Trevi and be happy with it, but thinking about it for a few weeks makes me realize that i m not ready for this step. Maybe someday LoL.

It really is about what bag you . I have several Coach and one LV monogram Speedy that I inherited from my aunt. I love it because it was hers, but I don't love the opening. To me, the zipper doesn't open far enough and I don't like to struggle getting my accessories in or out. It's a really sweet bag, but I rarely use it. It also doesn't have a shoulder strap, which is something I've found I prefer to have. However a different style like the Alma might be a bag I'd use daily! Then there is the prestige of carrying a LV. I believe most people who carry a designer bag enjoy that prestige to some extent, as well as the craftsmanship and quality. Otherwise, we'd all buy our bags at Wal-mart. Don't get me wrong, I have some trendier style bags from JCPenney that I enjoy carrying. But I'm not into those for the long haul or as something I love. Don't let the prestige be the sole determining factor. You're going to have to live with the bag and if you're spending alot of money, you want it to be a bag that will stand the test of time, look good, feel good, and fit your needs. You may see a bag online and think, that's the one! But when you actually see one and carry it, you know it's not the right fit. I really think you have to become familiar with the brand you're interested and see it IRL. Touch it, try it on, look at it thoroughly. A great bag will really touch all your senses. (Well, maybe not taste! :p )

My favorite LV bag is the Trevi PM in Damier, I have stared at her a couple of times at LV, but I haven't had the willpower to save and spend that much in one time :) Someday I may do it.

I loooove my Trevi PM. She is so gorgeous. I lusted over her for quite a while and then she was sold out for a few months. When she eventually came back in-stock, she was pricier. I wasn't expecting my husband to say yes and buy it for me but he said it looked better than the neverfull (I was trying on both). I love that you could use it as a handheld or shoulder bag. When you do decide to buy the bag, you'll be sooo happy. I really do looove it so much! I carried her straight for a few months but I'm letting her have a much needed rest for the winter -- it's starting to rain a bit again. Funny story--everytime I went into a Coach store and I was carrying my Trevi, the SA's always said they loved my LV more than the Sabrinas and the Juliannes that I was looking at. Go figure. Always made me feel good about carrying her around. :wlae:

I am unfailingly polite when things like that happen, so I just smiled and said I didn't support the purchasing of fake handbags for reasons XYZ. It was odd because when she asked me, she leaned in conspiratorially like she wanted me to tell her who I got it from or something. That's why I added in why I didn't support fake handbags. I just thought it was strange that she asked when she's in a professional environment selling bags for a name brand company. Very tacky. Then, she wanted to play with my bag and look at it. :faint:

How timely this thread is. My husband was at the front desk of our fitness club tonight telling the gal (a young sweetie whom we term "our gym daughter") that I got four coach bags for Christmas and there was an early twenties gal standing nearby who chimed in, "Oh, I used to work at Coach". My eyes lit up like a child when I asked her about her experience. She went on to tell me that she hasn't liked the style of any Coach bags for five years and how they are young, juvenile, and can't compare to any sophisticated brand name bags (like LV) that she mentioned.

Okay, I believe LV bags and Gucci especially are to die for! Because I'd actually like to retire someday and I have two kids going to college in the next three years, I will abstain from those brands for now and I'm great with "affordable luxury"!

Her judgement was also so curious to me because I'm 40 years old and I love Coach. I also admire LV and CAN afford them, but, I enjoy variety so I choose not to. For the price of canvas bags, I can buy leather Coach bags plus all the fun accesories.

The young bystander said, "Oh, all the college girls carry Coach". I was thinking to myself that when I started undergrad school in 1986 I was lucky to be able to make rent. I wasn't carrying Coach bags at that age, just a JC Penny wallet at best.

So, by annoucing my disconnect I guess I'm showing my age. Ummm, to all you wonderful ladies who love Coach and respect it's affordable luxury....I salute you!!!

LOL, an AC/DC moment!!!

P.S. I love LV too, just don't want to afford it until I've spent the 100K it takes to send each of my children through college.

I am a coach girl to the heart and I have been since the mid 90's ....but last saturday I bough my first Damier speedy 30 ebone and I'm in love....ah...I say liquidate a few old non used coach bags and go get that speedy or neverfull! :0)
