Coach Returns Policy

Exactly about the abusing part! This policy was also more generous than other brands and now is more in line with them. If people didn't take advantage we would not have seen so many changes
I agree with this . :smile1:
I personally am glad about the changes in policy. Before this went into effect, I would notice while in line at outlets (sometimes) women trying to return an obviously used bag as unused. Usually the SA gave them store credit just to be nice .
I would cringe thinking I might pick up something someone returned that they used already.
Now at least the policy is stricter so people like that can't scam the stores.

Plus, as a consumer, you can always check return policies with the company. I know I have inquired with other companies before purchasing to be sure.

Um, yes, I checked with them about their return policy BEFORE making my purchase. I was told I can return them at ANY time. Not 60 days. Not ANY time unless we changed our minds. I don't shop at Coach very often. I am more a Kate Spade/Prada shopper, but I purchase Coach occasionally. The last time I purchased something was probably in the summer last year. Even then, the policy was return unused items with tags and receipt at ANY time. So, yes, I informed myself, but I'm not psychic! I don't go into the coach store every month to ask if they're changing thir return policy! I expect the policy to be the policy absent notice. And yes, it IS the stores responsibility to tell its customers about changes in terms, particularly those that alter the conditions of the original sale. I paid a premium for that return policy, and it's shown by how much bags cost 2 years ago versus now when everything is selling for half the price!

I believe the receipt said the return policy is subject to change at any time. And very few stores nowadays will let you bring back items that are two years old, so I think that's more or less in line with the norm. It sucks, but that's why I try to decide about things as soon as possible, and to bring stuff back in case if something like this happens.

+ 1

Well, Coach's updated line with all the "treated" grain leather and the new return policy worked for me. (Sarcasm font) Last thing I bought was the Snoopy hangtag. Last purse was a Borough. I may try to get a grommet off the outlet sale if I remember this weekend.

My return rate has plummeted, because my buying rate is also dead in the water. I guess Cosch sees someone as stopping buying altogether as a plus. Great marketing plan if you ask me.

I have been into Coach for 15-20 years now and I have never returned anything. I have done one exchange, but that's it. I research and consider every purchase carefully so that I only buy what I love and will use. I can't imagine returning something I bought years ago. I love my Coach collection too much. :smile1:

Has anyone done an outlet return after 60 days with a receipt for store credit? If so, is the store credit good at FP stores as well?

I have a Mickie tote I've been deciding on and passed the 60 day window, bad on my part, I know. :) Anyway was just getting it out to possibly start using and the stitching on one handle looks loose. I know I'll load it up since it's so big and I don't want to have to worry about the strap so I'd like to return it. I'm fine with store credit and will likely get something in the same trip.

The receipt say returns without receipt are store credit at lowest recent selling price, which would be totally fine since I got a fantastic deal on it and that would probably be close to the price I paid.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Oh, I didn't even know I could return a bag without a receipt. I got one as a gift a month ago without a gift receipt. I know she bought it from an outlet though because it was retagged with an F in front of it.

Maybe take it in and don't produce the receipt - then they won't know you are past the 60 days. I'd be too afraid that if you showed the receipt they wouldn't accept the return at all and then you wouldn't be able to try again.

I don't know though-wouldn't they ask your name anyway? Once the SA checks the records, then it's clear when you purchased it. Maybe one could try saying it was a gift...?

Even if they found that you had purchased that exact item more than 60 days ago, they wouldn't have proof that you didn't get another one as a gift within the 60 day limit, right? That could be why you're returning.

I believe there is a unique number on the price tag that would also shows on receipt and most likely in their computer too. Last time when i returned a bag, the SA compared the details on the price tag with the receipt. I can imagine they can compare the price tag details with customers' purchase record in their system too.

Hi Everyone -

I searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer so I thought I would post here. I have a beautiful whiskey Madison hobo that I purchased on sale last year. I have never used it, and since then have adopted a vegan lifestyle. Because of my lifestyle choice, I am selling all of my leather bags.(Yes, it is painful!) I was curious if you know if Coach would allow me to return the bag? I don't necessarily need to get my money back; I would be happy with a credit to purchase some sunnies or something non-leather. Do you know if Coach has a lenient return policy that I could ask them? Sorry, I could probably go in and ask, but I'm really shy and don't want to walk in and be embarrassed.

Thank you!

M

Unfortunately, they changed their return policy in the last year to 60 days. I believe that they are no too lenient outside of this policy. You could try and explain the situation to them and see if they are willing to work with you. Or try selling on your own. Good luck.
