Hello ladies,
I came to share a tip, it worked for me so may be it helps some of you. Sorry if this was already mentioned, I have not visited for sometime and also my memory is fuzzy as times, LOL
Anyway, I took my Poppy Sig out of the closet and noticed some scuffs on the patent leather, bottom and corners. I remembered being told by a Coach SA to use the Coach Fabric cleaner for patent, so I did but nothing happened. I also remembered from this thread to be careful with cleaners to use, because the patent could be damaged and the shine gone. I thought about using Goo Gone because it's oily and YES! it took the scuffs off with no damage. The bottom was the worse and I didn't take a picture, not being sure that it would work, but I took pictures of the others. I do not know what caused the scuffs, so it might work all the time or not. The glare and shine makes it difficult to see, sorry...

Thanks for the tip! A shoe repair guy once told me to use Pledge Furniture Polish on patent leather. I've never tried it but I sure hope that it doesn't make you smell like a lemon!

Great tip! I hope I remember it when I need it. I've used vaseline.

Me too! I've also used acetone for white scuff marks but only barely touch the patent, else Bad Things happen.

BTW has anybody else had trouble with app notifications? I'm missing out on all the fun here after getting a new phone. I have all the notification types set to On but I get zero notifications except occasional email eons after a post. I'm notification dependent!

I stopped using the app. I don't get email notifications either except for private messages but that's fine with me since I'm on here all the time anyway. What works best for me is to click on "watched threads" and it shows me all the threads I've posted in that have new activity.

Thanks! That's what I do now, too, guess I just need to get in the habit.

Hello everyone,

I bought this manor bag on ebay last month after seeing it on the authentication thread. ( It was still available some time after the authentication request ).

Here is the link:
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D222554701547

Anyway, the bag arrived and was pretty dirty. I have cleaned it with Lovin' My Bags just so I could feel comfortable working on the brass. Yes, that dirty.

I think, though, now that it's a bit more conditioned, that the colour might be the fabled British Tan? Can anyone confirm that? I have no idea if this bag ever came in that colour. The initial listing looked light brown but I thought mocha, perhaps. It's certainly not mohagany. Any answers would be much appreciated :)

Thank you!

I think it is probably taupe. There doesn't seem to be enough orange or red to be British tan.

I can't venture a guess on the official color but wanted to say it looks 100% better than in the listing pics.

You know there's a Rehab & Rescue thread with tons of great advice. I'm sure most of the active rehabbers will suggest an application of Black Rock. It does bring a 'gleam' to the leather. I agree with them.

Oh, wow. Thank, whateve, I would have thought Taupe would be lighter. This bag could indeed be Taupe. It is actually the prettiest colour in person. I have a 'Whiskey' Bleecker and it seems closer to that colour but not as dark. Like a soft reddish brown. I'm going to post some photos when I'm done the rehab.

Thanks, ZSP

I haven't dunked yet, but I already have my Blackrocks ready to go :)

Actually Bleecker didn't come in Whiskey. Whiskey was a Legacy color. The 2007 Bleecker brown colors were putty, British tan, rust and wine. I have rust and wine. I imagine you are referring to rust. That's a very pretty color. I would never expect to call it taupe.
