Katev, I've always enjoyed following the progress and outcome of your rehab work and I've used your guidance many times for my own attempts to restore vintage Coach gems I've found. Thank you for sharing your great work!

I haven't, but I'd like to see your results. Please obliterate the creed on that bag so it never gets sold as authentic Coach. This is more a question for people who keep their fakes: have any of you used leather-crafting stamps on your bags to make patterns and such? If yes, what's been your experience and do you have any recommendations/advice? I have a (fake) bag that I want to try stamping after I clean it up.
My latest Poshmark acquisition - a cute little Post Pouch! This one turned out to be polished, so much color is coming off! Hopefully she evens out ok. Really interested to see how the monogram on the tab looks after, too. I set her outside for now, hopefully I don't need to do another dunk. We've had great weather and the small size of this bag means she's almost completely dry already! Just added a second coat of blackrock. Overall I think she looks better, less streaky. The monogram is still very apparent (I tried to massage it out... proved futile lol). Idk guys, I'm just feeling "meh". Maybe this color isn't for me, still kicking myself for selling my navy blue one last year. Message me if any of you spot one of these anywhere, k? Looks really nice! What a beautiful patina she has.
I got a 2006-2007 Legacy bag and cleaned around all the brass rivets with vinegar, trying to get rid of the verdigris. However, now the leather is dark around the rivets and the seam thread is stained green. Any ideas on how to clean this? I don't know if the leather is vachetta.
Thanks. I'll try and report back.eHow says to use a vinegar/baking soda paste. Let sit for 5 minutes and wipe with a clean towel and condition Leather.
OR
Scrub with a paste made from equal parts or lemon juice and salt. Rinse all traces of lemon juice so it doesn't bleach the leather.
I thought vinegar and baking soda was what we used to put in our diorama volcanoes to make them explode. Anyone remember that?eHow says to use a vinegar/baking soda paste. Let sit for 5 minutes and wipe with a clean towel and condition Leather.

Yes, it is! When you mix them together, it bubbles and froths.I thought vinegar and baking soda was what we used to put in our diorama volcanoes to make them explode. Anyone remember that?

By the way, it didn't work. I had already cleaned the brass with vinegar but when I wiped it away, the wetness caused some of the verdigris to stain the leather and stitching. So I didn't need anything that would kill verdigris, just something for the stain. The mixture might work for verdigris but I don't know if it works any better than straight vinegar.
Whiskey leather and some of the stitching is white.Well, no harm done, I hope. What color is the leather and stitching?
