oops auctions..... ha..... Like on ebay .... there is a Vintage toy auction company in CT that had a couple of them a few years ago
Lol, thanks for 'splaining. I have taught some medical terminology courses to pre-nursing students and I would tell them one letter can make all the difference.
I only brought up Ken because of the male model in the second photo. Ringer.

Hey guys long time rehabber just lurking today. No new projects. Have not been around for a while....
I was the poster who suggested Vintaj patina a while back....someone posted a few pages ago about the rub and buff and color transfer. ..the vintaj should not rub off on leather if you apply the sealer that you can buy for it. It does leave a slight sheen though so YMMV. It may work for you depending on your project.

Two coats of Leather CPR, and one coat of Blackrock. I pretty much stick with these two products for everything, I usually get pretty good results [emoji106]
I really think those two products are the bomb too. I am trying to rehab without leather cpr Things are not looking as nice without it. I tried all over town to get it at Marshalls and Homegoods last week to no avail. In the end I ordered this motherload from Amazon so I don't have to run out again for a long while! But it won't be here for a few days as it has no prime shipping. And then everything I have done this week will get the cpr treatment, then some blackrocks. I also really like obenauf's oil for old NYC leather that has faded. I'm nearly out of that too.

I am too lazy to hunt for it locally, I go straight for Amazon lol. I still need to try Obenaufs, keep hearing good things about that one!

Well, I received my Antique Nickel and Red Nubuck Rhyder 33 Satchel from Goodwill today. The bag is beautiful but dirty. The front and the inside are pretty clean but the bottom, back, and piping are spotted and stained and filthy. The pictures don't really show how dirty it really is. I was hoping that I could just surface clean it because nubuck is so tricky to work with, but I am going to have to dunk it.

Another reason to give it a bath it to try and reshape it because the bag is just one big red puddle! I have 2 other Rhyder satchels and they are structured and sit upright but this one just lays there like a rag doll!

This was an impulse buy. I already have 2 red hobo bags and one of my Rhyder satchels is a colorblock with dark orange nubuck and black pebbled leather - so I surely didn't need this bag. But I put in a modest bid and was surprised to win it - so now I have to try and clean it!

It is a pretty bag and I hope that I don't ruin it - any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
I'd recommend Lincoln EZ Cleaner for Nubuck and Suede. Try spot cleaning the soiled areas. The cleaner will dry without leaving a mark.Blot, don't rub or you'll get a faded patch. For some reason, red dyes tend to be fugitive and prone to fading or lifting. It's a beautiful bag, good luck!

Funny thing but when I read "Lincoln EZ Cleaner" I immediately thought of a yellow liquid in a clear bottle - I went and checked my cleaning supplies and I already have a full bottle! I also found a spray can of Moneysworth Best Suede and Nubuck Cleaner and a brush! I am like a "mad chemist" I have so many bottles and jars of leather products!

Everything I touch with Blackrocks feels sticky and stays sticky for a long, long time. No amount of polishing or buffing removes the feeling. What am I doing wrong!

Apply it very, very sparingly, rub it in, and rub it off quickly with paper towels or rags.

This used to happen with me too! I think I was using too much. Now I use just a tiny bit, and then when I'm done with a section I buff. And then after the bag sits a while I buff again. Also, and this may be different for others, but I have found if I put the bag out afterwards on a warm day that it soaks it up better. So sometimes I just let the bag sunbathe for a short bit to make it soft instead of sticky.
