I don't want to keep it either. I also have one just like it. I just want to rehab and release! Lol!
Ditto, except I have no more room so I cannot save you, haha!

I am no where near finishing my rehab pile so adding one more would really not make sense.Ditto, except I have no more room so I cannot save you, haha!
Ebk v convertible coach continues.
I didn't mention yesterday that there was a lot
of verdigris also. But after taking the turnlock hardware off, submerging it in a baking soda and vinegar paste, scrubbing with an old electric toothbrush and scraping off the rest, that issue, in retrospect, was minor.
Went back to the acetone treatment (by an open window this time) and made a bit of progress. The used paper towel is more charcoal grey to grey now. The shine is gone from all surfaces and brownish leather is starting to show. There was much less polish on the inside of the pocket, thank goodness.
I have a question for you rehabbers who have used acetone on shoe polish: could the remaining black on the used paper towel be colour from the bag itself now? If so, I can presumably stop with the acetone and give the bag a good bath. I do so hope so!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Someone buy this city bag! I did one rehab is this one time and everytime I see this bag at this price it's like a default purchase for me. Save me y'all!
City bag $20 https://item.mercari.com/gl/m26923338016/
I might if I didn't already have it! And I got mine for $6.99 at Goodwill. But $20 is also a great price for a great bag.

Thank you. I'll try the sink first and then, perhaps, the washer. You should try giving it a bath and see if any more color comes off. Is it the normal tinge that you often see when dunking a bag or is it still bleeding color? I once rehabbed a dark brown briefcase that was coated with layers of dried, paste polish. I really had to scrub it to remove the caked polish. I used alcohol on it as well and washed it in the sink, but I still wasn't sure that I had gotten it all off so I put it in a net laundry bag and ran it through the washer and it finally came out clean.
Hello all!
I just found the bag below at a garage sale for $3. It is absolutely filthy, but for the price I thought it might be fun to see what happens! So, I am wondering if it would be better to machine wash or hand wash? Any other tips for better results? TIA! View attachment 3717071 View attachment 3717072

Show me the chewed dowels.OK, OK, you talked me into it!
Planning to "rehab and release" - unless I fall in love with it, which could happen.
This was (believe it or not!) my first Mercari purchase so I got $3 off. I also used the invite code from an earlier post by houseof999, not sure if that worked.
Anyway, I'm in.
Ha! I'm hoping there's no hidden ink marks or perfume reek.Show me the chewed dowels.
Should we start a thread that is no discussion, just pics of rehab piles?I am no where near finishing my rehab pile so adding one more would really not make sense.
