Getting closer! I only needed one coat of Leather CPR and the worn corners turned out well enough that I don't think I'll need to touch them up. After I took the photo, I applied Blackrocks and last step is to buff. The inside on the bottom and inside of the pockets are still a bit damp, so maybe I will put some tissues in them to help dry, or put it by the fan.

It looks great. I enjoy the transformation process. To see the potential, and then bring that potential life. I find it satisfying.

All done! Thanks so much for your encouagement and tips! I can see why everyone gets addicted to this. It was so fun and rewarding.

Overall, it turned out pretty good. There is a faint white spot I could not get out on the back, but I think only I can see it. Also, i think I overloaded it this morning as there is new rubbing on the handle and a little stretching on the inside (kind of a white line in the crease). But for $15 plus supplies, I have a new looking bag!

Hello.
Can anyone recommend a conditioner to use on black leather that really does well masking scuffs and deepening light fading. Tried a dab of black rock and it is not working as well as I hoped, the bag is lined but I may wash it.
Thanks!

I think Blackrocks is the best for that but it will definitely absorb better if the bag has been newly dunked.

What a beauty, and a bargain too!

Back in January I bought this sad Ergo tote (10744) for $15 + free shipping from ebay. I got it on a whim thinking I could replace the missing turnlock backplate myself from an ebay seller. Of course, in the meantime I discovered that the ebay seller doesn't have access to that turnlock set. I called coach and found out it's only $35 for that repair! That included the shipping there and back to me.

So I gave it a bath myself - the interior and exterior were pretty dirty but I decided to throw it in the washing machine and it cleaned up great! I took it to my Coach store just about 3 weeks ago and they sent it in for me. To my surprise, I got it back today! I had left my hangtag there to be personalized and the bag beat the hangtag home!

It's not perfect - there is a nail polish stain on the legacy lining :-( I dabbed it with a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover which lightened it significantly. Any other ideas for getting it out?

I'm so happy I took a chance on this bag!

Wow, amazing! I had no idea Coach still had the turnlocks for this line. For the nail polish, acetone is the best thing. You might get the pure acetone nail polish remover if your isn't. It is stronger. If the lining pulls out of the bag, you can scrub the acetone into the spot with a rag.

Oh, good idea! Yes, the lining pulls out. I just wasn't sure what the acetone would do to the fabric in larger amounts - I will give it a try. Thanks!
