Now you see it, now you (mostly) don't!
These ink marks laughed at my LM Dye Transfer Remover, so I had to do it the old fashioned way with conditioner + acrylic. I agree with @dstalksalot - fine tipped brush and dot dot dot application is the way to go.
Has anyone successfully applied Black Rocks over pajnted areas? Last time I tried, it removed the color (argh!) but I might not have let it cure long enough.

Wow you did a great job! Excellent cover up You really matched the colors well. No easy feat!

I kind of went through this recently, but in my case I wanted to replace just one foot. I ordered feet from Etsy and was sent the wrong size. Then I ordered from ebay and learned that even though the shape and base were the right size, the slope was different and the tip of the foot was much smaller, plus it was shorter. After that I gave up!

The feet Coach used didn't have prongs in the center, which is the only type you can find. The height and slope of Coach feet were different too, but that shouldn't matter much since you don't have to match anything. You'll have to dig holes in the bottom of the bag to attach them. Unless you can lift that piece of suede in the bottom of the bag, the prongs will show on the inside of the bag. In your case, I think you should wait until you get the bag to measure the circles on the bottom, because you'll want to come close to covering them.

I think the antiqued brass is closer to the correct color. Even though it is probably darker than you need, it looks better than the really shiny gold.

How about this type? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Solid-Brass...hash=item5685aa7912:m:mlcxBpav0iXuGSWJ7Cr0qJg
They screw in, so on the inside you'll just have neat screwheads instead of prongs. I've ordered from this company before. It takes a long time to get your package but they check with you to make sure you've gotten it and are happy.

That's a good idea about the screws looking better on the inside. I was thinking I might glue in a scrap piece of leather over the prong things, like a liner if I found them annoying. I was also thinking the shiny gold might look very wrong. The ones you recommend are at least solid brass which is a good thing! It concerned me that the others might actually be plasticky. I actually do have an old dooney that's falling apart that has little round brass feet, but I looked and couldn't figure out how on earth to remove them!

Wow, this is amazing! I think if you wait a couple weeks, Blackrocks won't remove the paint. But try it gently at first to make sure.

Thanks! I learned how to see color undertones after spending hours and hours organizing yarn by color for an artist. Finally, the payoff! [emoji846]

Thanks! I'll wait to try the BR and report back. Think I only waited a day before - oops!

I see auctions like this and I wonder, what would anyone do with this hideous bag? :amazed:

It's pretty much a lost cause for rehabbing, due to all the ink marks. Still, I suppose there are some salvageable parts on it, like the hang tag, the zipper pull and the handles.

I imagine it could be used as a prop in a movie or play. Part of a Burning Man costume? A gag :yucky: (literally!) gift?

One thing eBay has taught me is that there are a lot of people out there who see the world VERY differently.

LOL... the pen marks are mostly on the inside though. I thought it might well come up nice on the outside with a lot of conditioner and a bath. But I didn't bid on this one.

My black skinny flight bag arrived and, surprise! It's actually navy. Very much blue. Oh well. I'm going to keep it anyway because it's nice but I guess I'm still in the market for a black one. And now I still have to figure out what to do about the feet and I hope I have a navy strap I can borrow from another bag for it.

Same thing happened to me recently with a skinny tote and I decided to keep mine, too. If you don't have a navy strap, Pinterest has convinced me navy and black can look good together when you colorblock it and it looks intentional. Maybe with the right charm or scarf, you could pull it off?
Very interested to see how your feet replacement project goes.

Hi all of you rehabbers! What is your expert opinion on what should be done to this bag? Does it just need cleaned/conditioned or does it need the infamous 'bath' I have been reading about? New to this so looking for expert opinions rather than going at it willy nilly

Thanks in advance for any insight you can give.

I think I might end up pulling the feet off an old stewardess I have. I think it might well be too hard to replace with different ones and the stewardess has many holes that I didn't do a great job at repairing... too many, too messy. Perhaps this skinny flight bag in perfect condition is more worthy of its feet. Pretty sure I have a navy strap too! Yay!

When you take off the feet, can you measure them in all directions and show what they look like on the attaching end? That would be so helpful.
