Hi Everyone
Am about to rehab this Bleeker L8D-9305 for my sister-in-law.
This is only the second glove-tanned bag I've rehabbed and would appreciate some reassurance on how to proceed.

It has many lighter colored marks on it - looks worse in person.

I was planning on soaking for 20 minutes, then stuff and dry a bit. Then condition with CPR, followed by Blackrock in hopes that the color will even out. (I've had that work on black Sonomas using Blackrock.)
Or do you think Leather Therapy would work better than CPR?
Any ideas or thoughts appreciated!

TIA!

I've rehabbed that bag with CPR and Blackrocks. I think it will work fine. I've never gotten Leather Therapy to work for me.

Great! Thanks for the reassurance whateve!
I've had Leather Therapy work great on some bags, not so great on others - usually but not always the lighter colored bags. Still trying to figure that out.

Hi Everyone
One more bag - a City Bag 9790 - that I'm rehabbing for my sister-in-law.
Just checking if the following procedure is OK for this bag too, don't want to mess it up.

Thanks as always!

Hey everyone,
I have a soft wallet that I have dropped one too many times. What should I do? I was thinking I should just use some leather dye and then condition. Any suggestions?

Is this pebbled leather or crossgrain? I have gotten awesome results on pebbled leather using Leather Refinisher by Wood n Stuff mixed with Lexol or any thin conditioner. A sample sized bottle is plenty. After it has dried for several days, I follow up with conditioner and Blackrock.

Whateve, yes it is pebbled leather. Thank you for the tip. I will definitely try it!

Just an FYI that I used Blackrock only on a black Sonoma pebbled leather bag that had some lighter colored marks on the leather. I worked it in really well around that area. It worked great, can't see the scrapes anymore. Just another option!

A few months ago I used Rub n Buff on a wallet medallion, followed by a thin coat of clear nail polish. So far it is holding up well.

Thanks for the reference, Catbird! I now remember it was you who experimented with Rub n Buff, I just didn't follow your trials-and-errors to the point when you started covering the surface with clear nail polish - and that's made the real difference, I guess. Nice pictures, too!

Hey guys....I'm going into another rehab spurt. I'm looking at an eBay find that needs to edge coat. It looks extensive and cracked in many places on the strap. Worth the risk? The bag is camel I think so edge coat I think is dark brown? Bag will also need some corner retouching. It's 35 shipped.
I'm up for a challenge, but have minimal experience with piping repair. I've done a couple of bags with moderate success. Never tried edge kote yet but worked on many legacy. My last technique on piping was leather cement with a thicker vynal repair glue over it ( texture like puff paint) then I painted acrylic to match. Wordering if I could do the same thing...wondering about the difference and workability.

I think it is really difficult to get it looking as good as the original. It's best to remove all the coating and start over. I don't think it is any more difficult on a Legacy bag. $35 is a great price!

I am new and have been lurking for a few weeks, getting educated. Thank you so much to all of you for the great information.
I need to edge coat the strap on one of my City bags after removing the existing peeling coat. Can anyone suggest a good way to do remove that peeling coat?
Again, many thanks.

Thank you for the push whateve.....she dropped the price to 30 shipped so I am going to try. Now I'm nervous. (Been rehabbing for years, I guess it's time for a bigger challenge.)

I looked on YouTube and there are many toutorials for leather edging, so I'm hoping my results will blend nicely. I think I'm going to try edge kote for this project....

Edge kote is really thin. It takes tons of coats. There is a newer product I've wanted to try. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008ROPZ6...lid=2CC7SYKCFQ3D3&coliid=I1Z80JPX1DNLO2&psc=1 but the reviews are bogus.
