Awesome rehab ladies...would you please give me your opinion about this bottle green Bleeker bag? I've "bathed" a couple of black bags, one or two british tan and two red and all have turned out great. I suppose this green shouldn't be much different than doing the red ones but...I'm not sure. I'd appreciate your comments.

BTW, I learned everything I know about rescue and rehab right here. ;)

So I've been reading up here on the coach rehab and rescue threads and it is amazing what a bag bath and some tricks can do!

I have yet to find a coach court bag to love yet, although I do thank the suggestions for the coach plaza court which is very very nice, but I like the classic square style a bit more. In fact, so much that I have been doing a nonstop search all day, including WHILE grocery shopping >.<

Anyway, I'm thinking about bidding on this court bag that LOOKS to be (maybe) the colour british tan that I'm looking for. But look at the terrible condition it is in... there seems to be white/silver sharpie writing under the flap, watermarks on the bottom, PEN MARKS on the underside of the flap AND random black marks on the back and front. And no, the starting bid is not cheap.

Should I just say no and be patient, continue day dreaming about this bag?

I was thinking the bag bath and conditioning would remove the minor scratches and dirt, and deglazing and redying might help with the pen mark (along with leather CPR 1-2x) but the white/silver sharpie writing? hmm... that prob is here to stay :\ still on the fence. Clearly going crazy with wanting to own a british tan court bag.

Unless I got a bag like this dirt cheap, I would walk away. I know it is hard to wait, but I've gotten absolutely perfect bags for really great prices just by being patient. Plus your first rehab should be an easy one. I totally botched my first because I picked one that was too much of a challenge for my limited knowledge.

Do you really think it needs a bath? I would be really careful with this one. I've had a lot of trouble with the Bleecker lining. The bag doesn't look misshapen. I would just condition it.

I agree with whateve on this one. Be patient and think about what you can live with if the rehab doesn't go the way you plan. I found a large plaza court that had pen marks on the top that didn't come off and dried crooked, but I absolutely love it. Pen marks are a crap shoot, from my experience. That sharpie writing would bother me, and you may not be able to fix that easily. I think you can do better. Sometimes it takes a little while to get the right one.

I'm new here and I just wanted to say that I love this thread. I'm a big thrift store shopper and after reading here on the rehab thread and on the authenticate thread, I just bought a little coach signature bag for a couple dollars that I'm going to work on. I'll post here once I get a chance to snap pictures. I have worked on other types of thrift store rehabs, but not leather purses, so this thread has been very helpful. Can't wait!

What kind of issues have you had with the tattersall? Just curious,I haven't felt the need to wash a Bleecker yet but you know how I am.

This was a really long time ago. I had a wristlet that had the tattersall lining. It had a few spots so I pulled the lining out and washed it. The original spots came off but new ones appeared. They looked like grease. This happened several times. Eventually I got most of the spots off but only by making sure the previously clean areas didn't get wet again.

Thanks @coach943, now that I've had time to sleep and think clearly I realize how crazy I sounded thinking all this stuff would could out of a bag on my first would-be rehab attempt! Thanks, I'm definitely going to just wait and hopefully land something soon.

What do you think about water marks? Are those hopeless too?

I've had good success getting out water marks with a bath and reconditioning. If it is truly just water staining, they seem to come out. It can be hard to tell what the stain is until you get the bag and start working on it, however. I have a British Tan Weston Shopper that has some other type of stain on it, probably an oil of some type. It also had water staining, and I thought the oil stain was a water stain when I bought it. The water stains came out, but the oil stains didn't, and I haven't decided what to do with them yet.

You are so, SO right... It is hard to walk away and my better judgment agrees with you...but IT'S SO HARD!! lol. I don't think I'll attempt any of the rehabbing unless I post my bag up first, and that wouldnt break my heart if something went wrong. But I guess I'd need to get a bag first for that to happen, lol >.<
