Hi ladies i posted about my Willis find and a kind lady sent me here. I have not got the bag yet so i am not 100% sure how bad it is.It is a newer 70th anniversary Willis in white.I have cleaned leather before but not white leather it has been darker leather. I was hoping for some tips because i am super excited to have another Willis bag. Most of the time i go for dark leather bags but it looked like a good summer bag to me. Is there a good way to remove dark spots and what i think are ink marks on the back and is there a good easy to find conditioner. I posted pictures of the bag that were on Ebay any help would be great ty in advance.
I didn't realize you were talking about a new Willis, not a classic Willis, in the other thread. I probably wouldn't give it a bath after all. I don't remember what the leather is like on this bag. I kind of remember it isn't normal glove-tanned leather.

I have that bag in a different color - so cute!
Maybe it was beginner's luck, but I completely erased a pen mark on a white Coach using Leather Dye Transfer Cleaner. I got it off Amazon. I've had zero luck removing ink on any other color bag - LDTC just leaves a light spot. For those, I had to use acrylic mixed w/ conditioner or Leather Refinisher to cover.
I remember reading about someone using zit cream to bleach out marks on a white bag. You might search this thread (or archived versions of this thread) for that.
Good luck!
I will try that i have a list of things forming to try lol ty so much i am excited i had it in crimson patent but i learned i hate patent leather.

My daughter has it in the crimson patent. I think it is beautiful. Mine is colorblock.
The first week i carried my crimson i had marks on it and i am very very careful with my bags so i traded it i loved it the color was perfect. Then i missed it and have looked for another one a few times then i came across this one i hope i can get it look good again. I like the color blocks but the colors i like all have gold hardware that i am not a fan of lol.

I'm sorry that happened. I'm very surprised my daughter's has stayed perfect. I think she has been extra careful because she thought I would be mad if she got it dirty. My colorblock was already slightly scratched when I got it.
Yeah, in the middle of summer too. Or maybe the heat will kill it???
Probably not. If there any moisture at all in the box or in the air, the mold will grow like crazy.

So I have not read all 774 pages. I have a black Legacy Willis coming. From the pictures it looks like the legacy lining needs a good cleaning. From what I have read on this thread using a baby wipe or dawn but pull lining out so the black leather does not bleed unto it. So how do you clean the lining that is attached to the flap?

Any help would be appreciated.

I use a mild spray cleaner that doesn't require rinsing usually. As long as you don't get it soaking wet, it won't seep through to the leather. You can also use dishwashing liquid or soap and water and just keep wiping with a wet sponge or cloth or absorb all the soap. I don't have a Willis in black but in my experience, the dyes used in recent bags are usually fairly colorfast and not prone to bleeding.

So some of the items listed on this thread:
Leather CPR
Blackrock
Apple garde

The blackrock has several different options? Also a mild spray cleaner that does not require rinsing/ What is that? Do I just need one of the conditioner cleaners?
Since it is a newer bag I do not think I can soak it?
Just trying to order what I will need. Thank you
