Thanks! I was thinking I could try comparing that middle one again in better lighting. It's a United Airlines Stewardess bag & I've wondered if it came in limited colors that might help with figuring it out.

I love the early bags too. I smile imaging the life they've had. :)

Me too! They each have a unique personality and a story to tell.

I bought this Madison python embossed wristlet December 2014 and my daughter has been using it for last six months. I've given her almost all of my heavy Coach bags due to health issues and she gave this wristlet back so I could use it. But it has some corner wear on it now. I'm wondering if using a little black rocks would help. Or should I try something else?

Thanks! : )

Blackrocks might help a little but I think you would probably have to paint it to get it looking new again.

Thank you, Catbird9!

This is such a mystery to me as it's just the top 14" of the strap that's worn and sticky and a bit thinner than the rest of the strap.
I have several Coach Sonomas and the straps are so thick & sturdy.

The bag itself is in EUC - can't figure out how that poor strap got that way!

Don't think I'm ready to do the acetone/Goo Gone route just yet....
I think I'll wash the strap one more time, and ponder what to do after that.

If I come up with a solution I'll be sure to post it.

Just wanted to report a success in rehabbing a damaged Sonoma strap. Yay!

I started realizing that the finish had worn off the strap., which is why just Leather Therapy & Blackrock weren't working.

Farmerycyndy suggested trying Eco-Flo Super Shene (post 10240) . Even though it's only meant for smooth leathers, I was a bit desperate & thought I'd give it a try.

After some experimenting this is the sequence that worked for me: 3 coats of leather therapy; 2 coats of Blackrock. Lots of drying time in between. Then 3 light coats of Super Shene. (Because this bag is pebbled, I had to gently blot any excess Super Shene from the nooks & crannies of the leather right after each application with a tiny bit of paper towel.)

The strap is smooth and supple now - so I can finally carry this bag!

Thank you Catbird9 for helping to think this through, and Farmercyndy for figuring out what happened to the strap, and the Super Shene suggestion. Much appreciated!

Congratulations on restoring the finish on that strap. I'm so glad you were successful, and it's good information in case I ever encounter a similar situation. Super Shene to the rescue!

Oh I am so disappointed in Coach today. Don't get me wrong I love the bags, I have 15 of them, but the customer service is terrible.
I have a bag that is stained so I thought I would just dye it black to see if it the dye would cover it up and use it to carry my dog. (She only weights 3LBS, so she can fit in almost anything.) I asked what the fabric content was and the rep didn't have a clue. She said it was Jacquard. I said yes but what is it made from? She didn't even know that a jacquard was a style and not what the thread was made from. After talking to her boss she said they had no way of knowing it was not written down but she knew the difference between the content and style. And the first rep talked to me like I was wasting her time.
But that is not the only time that has happened to me. About a month ago I bought a used Chelsea Satchel from 2006 with a turn lock closure on the top. It was broken but I thought I could get one for free from Coach. The 1st time I called the guy was very nice took the number of the bag and sent me the wrong size. The 2nd time a rude woman said they don't do that anymore but I could send it in for repair which would be $35.00 plus shipping and the 3rd time I called they told me to go to a coach store and they would be able to tell me the size I needed to order. I went to a factory outlet Coach store. She couldn't tell me and so she called a retail store and they didn't have one either.
By the way only 2 of the people I talked to were rude. All the others were very nice, they just didn't have a clue, not even the customer service manager.
The people on this forum know more than them. So does anyone know what the jacquard fabric with the little tiny Cs is made from? That bag's number is M0779-F1666.
Also where I can find a turn lock to fit my chelsea satchel. The turn lock is silver and the size is approximately 1-7/8" x 1-3/32" or 36mm x 28mm. It is held on with 2 screws. The bag number is D063-10134.
Thanks,

How can you tell if there's mold on your bag?? :confused1: My bag came today and there's some very faint grayish spots in one area, and I have no idea what they are! I can't get them to show in pictures-- might try to take a picture of them in the day time.

Hi everyone! I got this little cutie today and it's a bit grimey. Suggestions on how to clean it? Should I try mild soap wash or can I just toss it in the washer--what would it do to the leather trims?) also, there is a chunk taken out of the trim--can I glue it back? What would you use? Thanks so much in advance!ImageUploadedByPurseForum1448956523.607030.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1448956545.160247.jpg

Oops! Forgot to say I tried looking on the dooney boards and didn't see much on cleaning nylon. I've tossed my Kate spade nylon makeup bag in the wash before and it turned out great but it didn't have any leather on it.

I would be a little afraid to wash it because the trim might bleed. I would spot clean it. You can glue the trim back on. I use leather cement, but I think Alene's or Gorilla glue would work.

Coach used to repair all bags but they changed their policy to only repair bags that were less than a year old. You might try Silver Coach to get a replacement turnlock: http://stores.ebay.com/SCECKERT-SILVER-COACH

I had trouble finding anyone who could tell me fabric content for jacquard. It must be at least partly cotton, so RIT might work. I have dyed a few bags with it. I've painted it on rather than dipped it. The bags I dyed were black to begin with so I don't know how well it will cover a lighter color. The style number M0779-F1666 doesn't come up with anything. Are you sure you copied it correctly?

I don't know for sure; it might smell. If it is moldy, you'll need to kill the mold before you dunk or you'll be making it worse. You can wipe it down with alcohol or vinegar. If you have any sunshine where you are, setting it in the sun helps.
