I like Leather CPR better than Lexol. I use Lexol when I want a thin product to mix with paint, but I use Leather CPR as my main moisturizer. I have Obenaufs and use it but I don't know how much of a difference it makes. Sometimes it doesn't soak in and leaves a white powder residue. I think I like mink oil better for really dry leather.

Thanks much!

Also, one side of the bag looks like the first picture and the other looks like the second picture. Why is the texture so different on the two sides? Forgive my ignorance, this is only my second nubuc bag [emoji5]️ImageUploadedByPurseForum1443384449.257229.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1443384477.318331.jpg

ImageUploadedByPurseForum1443384183.390986.jpg on these two Coach purses I have resorted to Beeswax. They are thinner, lighter leather. I swear after every 3 weeks of use they get dull and the brown gets lighter color like a "starved" purse. I have used Blackrock and Obenauf's just like my other purses ( thicker leather) but this style was needing something more. I love this style, Coach 9566 to knock around in as it is so much lighter then the thick leather vintage coach to carry. In addition to giving it shine, the Beeswax makes it waterproof even in rain. It will darken the leather somewhat, especially at first. This style I tend to grap up by buckle leather at first, and that left hand oil mark without the Beeswax too.

I've used Skidmore's which is made of beeswax. I liked it and it smells so good! I think I might like it better than Obenaufs.

I have this Sonoma Small Bucket Zip in nubuc that has a spot on the front that I cannot remove. Any suggestions as to how to go about removing it? I have already used the Coach suede and nubuc cleaning kit on it.View attachment 3140701

nubuc is really hard to clean. I think the difference in texture is either just because they are different pieces of leather or that one is more worn from being held against the body.

You can try using a nail brush or pumice stone. I think you might have to add some color there.

How would I go about adding some color?

That's tough. I don't know what would work. Since it is nubuc, I don't think acrylic paint would be the best option. I think eye shadow might hide it temporarily but I wouldn't know how to make it permanent. Other than that, you could try RIT fabric dye, but I think you'd have to dip the entire bag rather than just doing one spot.

Hi. I've been using Blackrock on my Vintage LV but I dislike how sticky they feel. Do u experienced stickiness as well? I have not applied my Obenauf yet as I'm still trying to find out how I can remove the stickiness b4 I try to apply Obenauf on them. After stickiness experience with my LV, I'm holding back on my other vintage bags. That is why I've only cleaned my Coach, Dooney n other vintage but not put any conditioning on them yet. Would love to hear your experience with these 2 products (Blackrock n Obenauf). TIA [emoji4]

Oh another thing I'm concerned about is darkening of leather. I heard Blackrock makes leather darker, I'm wondering if it's a good choice for my Light blue Coach I recently bought. For LV Vachetta, I kinda like them looking darker (more vintage look) but for other color vintage....I'm hoping to keep their original color as much as possible.

If it is sticky, that is because you are using too much. You have to use a tiny amount, spread it around, rub it in, then wipe it all off with a paper towel. Then you can do some additional buffing with a brush or cloth. If you let it sit, you'll have to either clean it off or wait for it to absorb.

Oh no.... I didn't use too much but perhaps my "not much" is still too much! N I also didn't wipe it off or with paper towel or do any additional buffing. All I did was spread the conditioner around, then use hair dryer on gentle heat. It has been 2 weeks n my old LV r still sticky! What should info to reverse mistakes I've done?

Ok now that I know the correct way of applying those products, I will try on my Coach n other vtg bags. But first I need to try smoothen out some wrinkles on my black Willis. If it still can't b smoothen out....I think I may have to sell it off to get a better condition Willis. [emoji29]. The Color on my Navy Blue Bonnie Cashin hippie bag is faded around shoulder strap. Since I couldn't find shoes dye in Navy blue, is it a good idea to just carry on with Blackrock?

I really love Vintage pieces but rehabbing them is not an easy task lol. Gosh, hopefully few more Coach that hasn't arrive will b in better condition

On the brown nubuc, - try using a tea bag for a brown stain in that spot. Nubuc by nature is suppose to look a bit scuffy ( but not color off)
The Beeswax leaves no sticky ness. In fact it makes the color more deeper not darker, brings out the color more. On my brown bag, there were actually some ink marks, and the color got such a deep pop, I can't even see were the pen marks were.
There is a Meltonian Cream ( sold at cobblers and Amazon) in many colors that I have used on Red, Navy, Olive green, Coach purses ( and boots) that restores a faded color. It doesn't rub off either. Meltonian has a cleaning cream too that is good. Pic includedImageUploadedByPurseForum1443451372.608013.jpg
