I see, thank you whateve. I did try with few round of saddle soap but the pen mark stayed on my light beige/cream colour bag. It is a pity that I cannot rescue my bag without making surrounding area lighter. My friend suggested redye but I do not want to spend so much money. Oh no, my sister is going to be upset if she find out I was not careful with the bag I pleaded her to give me. [emoji30]

I'm sorry! I'd be upset too. Maybe you can add some embellishments to the area to cover up the ink? Like studs, or an applique?

Since it is a light color, you could try the acne cream technique described somewhere in this thread. You just put the acne cream only on the ink, avoiding getting it on any of the surrounding area, then put it in the sun. Search through the thread to find it.

dustytodiamonds - I found a listing from February, 2015 that doesn't show the creed either.

Although it could be lighting, does anyone else think the grommets look silver as compared to the brass buckle?

Wow - I thought it was over the top to try to even ask for $75 for a ripping bag, but didn't realize this whole scam was going on! Good thing I checked with folks here. Thanks for saving me money and a big headache!

Hi Everyone

Newbie question alert !

Was wondering what methods or products you all would recommend to
refresh/lightly clean Coach Sonoma/pebbled leather vintage bags?

The bags have been dunked & washed, treated with Leather Therapy and finished with Blackrock per all of your generous advise. They turned out great, but are now looking just a little dull from lots of use....

TIA!

Do you mean that it has been awhile since you rehabbed? If that is the case, I would just do another treatment of Blackrocks. It wears off.

It's been only 6 months or so since I rehabbed the bags I use the most.
Do you think the Blackrock would wear off in that time?

I was thinking the dullness may just be dirt from being handled....

Yes it wears off, probably sooner than that. The Sonomas tend to look dull. I like the extra shine Blackrocks gives them. There might be other products that last longer but might not be good for the leather.

Anyone have any preference as to the relative merits of products? I have used Lexol and Blackrocks with success but was thinking of buying Leather CPR and Obenauf's.
I like Leather CPR better than Lexol. I use Lexol when I want a thin product to mix with paint, but I use Leather CPR as my main moisturizer. I have Obenaufs and use it but I don't know how much of a difference it makes. Sometimes it doesn't soak in and leaves a white powder residue. I think I like mink oil better for really dry leather.

Here's something I tried today on some ink marks on the inside of a hard leather bag. It's not a Coach bag but I'm hoping this might be useful to some of you here.

I used a coarse pumice stone, a medium-coarse sandpapery covered spongy thing, and a fine-grade pedicure tool designed to smooth rough feet. I rubbed the ink marks, then rubbed gently over the entire surface. Then I brushed it all over with a nail brush. I like the result! The surface became softer, almost like suede, and the ink marks faded almost completely away. (I need to go back and work on that upper right corner some more.)

I was careful to avoid rubbing the stitching.
I've done that too. It only works if the ink hasn't soaked in.
