Could I get some opinions please? I bought this British Tan City bag from ebay (link). When it arrived, there were stains and ink spots that were described in the listing, but weren't apparent in the pictures. I assumed the seller mentioned them in the listing just for full disclosure but that they were faint or not very bad. There were also two small holes that were not described. The seller has offered to take back the bag though they've made it clear they are not happy since they described the defects and they say the pictures clearly show the defects. I disagree. Am I crazy? I looked at the pictures before I contacted them and I didn't see any ink spots or stains in the pictures. I looked again just now and I STILL don't see them. I've attached my own pictures so you can compare her pictures with mine. I'm not trying to give her a hard time or anything but I'm upset because the pictures don't really reflect what the bag really looks like. What do you think?

I think her pictures must have been "enhanced"! It doesn't even look like the same bag to me. Her pictures DO NOT show the defects. I'd be upset too.

They are all very fuzzy like there was a filter on her camera, or maybe she took them in very low light which is why they are so grainy you can't see any detail. Some of the spots don't appear to be there at all. She didn't mention the holes. I think the seller is at fault.

I might want it...
Hi, whateve! That is a really cute bag. If anyone can bring her back, it's you. If you do get it, just out of curiosity what are the shipping charges for US delivery? For me, here in Canada, the shipping charges are 28 USD which is now about 37 CDN! Now you know why I haven't been on this site asking authenticity questions! Our dollar is taking a beating.

There is absolutely no way the seller went out of her way to highlight or identify the flaws in the purse, especially the holes. She knew what she was doing.

I've dunked a Gramercy (of course I have) and the lining as not a problem at all. It was my Powder Blue (mint color, actually) large satchel. Not sure how you'd fix the texture of that, I don't think leather refinisher is thick enough to hold any indentations you make, but it would probably darken it and make it less noticeable.

$8.50 to California.

Thanks for that link. It's amazing what you learn around here!

On her LV patent leather wallet, it seems like rubbing it with the Mr Clean Magic Eraser and diluted acetone created that final shine. Interesting idea to try sometime.
I thought the magic eraser afterward was very interesting. I'm guessing the dye left a dull residue behind?

Ooh thanks for sharing. And really wonder why one of us didn't think of this before. Since patent grabs color so easily, why wouldn't this work?

I wish I'd seen this a long time ago. I've passed up a couple of patent bags while out thrifting that had some color transfer on them. Now of course that I've keeping an eye out, I'll never see one again.

I am also very grateful that this link was posted when I asked what to do with my wallet. Since my very first failure with cleaning a patent bag, I run away from all patent but now may be things will change. ;)

I wanted to share my results with just the glossy paint. I won't need to dye it, looks better although is just a try, my resources are very limited in my hometown, so the shade of blue is not what I need. Knowing that it works, next time I go to Michaels I will get the right shade and do it again. For now the biggest green spot is less noticeable.

Before and after pictures.

Looks like the glossy paint is going to work for you. Great to know

LOL!!!!! It's cute right?!
PLEASE POST PICTURES OF YOUR REHAB!!!!

I got it for $1.26 plus $8.50 shipping. I can't regret it even if I can't save it, right? I've never had anything from the Gramercy collection.

ETA: I earned 3 cents in ebay bucks, lol!

I'm working on a rehab with verdigris. :( This is my first. I read back through posts & tried the vinegar/baking soda paste on the leather strap. It helped but not enough. I am thinking of trying the paste again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is a glove-tanned leather vintage bag. Thanks!

If the seller is at fault and I send the bag back for a refund, is it normal for me to get a refund for the original shipping and back, or just original shipping? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I've never returned anything on ebay before. I don't even care about the money, it's the principle, especially how she acted miffed at me as though it was 100% my fault and she was being magnanimous for taking it back.

It depends. Since you didn't open a claim and the seller agreed to take the bag back, she owes you the sales price and the original shipping. You'll have to pay for the return shipping unless she offers to pay for it. If she had refused to take the return and you had opened a claim and won, she would have been responsible for paying your return shipping as well. But since she is cooperating, you can't open a claim just to get your return shipping. She probably knows this and knows she would lose a claim, so it is cheaper for her to accept the return. You will still have the opportunity to leave feedback, but I wouldn't do that until you've gotten your refund.

I hope I'm posting this in the correct thread (I'm fairly new to this). I'm considering purchasing this bag to rehab but it has a stain. Can anybody tell me how to remove the stain or if I will even be able to remove it?ImageUploadedByPurseForum1442977883.909354.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1442977895.041057.jpg
