GW purchase, burgundy suede bag. It is in pretty good shape, the inside is spotless. The outside looks dingy. After reading posts here, I have washed this in the washer but it still looks dirty on the outside. . . . any suggestions?
Thanks, spending the afternoon waiting for the dishwasher repair person and catching up on my Coach rehabs!!

Hi Honkers! I think it looks great! Have you brushed it yet? I use a suede brush with brass bristles to bring up the nap after it has dried.

Two Bleecker Large Flap bags - new to me. Both in really good condition but one was dirty on the Tattersall lining inside. Have read about problems with washing the Bleeckers so I used a few baby wipes and was amazed at how it cleaned up the lining. Wish I had taken a before pic of the inside!
The leather on the other bag feels a bit stiff. Not sure if some product was used on it. Any suggestions on what products to use on these bags?
Thanks!

Hi! I had recently found a very dirty light-colored suede bag for cheap that I'd hoped to revive. After searching for how-tos, I erased, brushed, spot cleaned with vinegar, cleaned with Ugg cleaner, totally washed with Dawn dish detergent, dried, erased, brushed, again with the vinegar, more brushing and finally ended with a suede protectant spray. Phew.... ;) As I mentioned, it was an inexpensive find in sad shape that I was okay experimenting with. My bag is not perfect but I think wearable. :)

Zealous, would love to see before and after pics, if you have them! This was meant to be a practice bag but I have gotten a bit attached to it! But, don't think it is ready for wear. . . yet.

Such beautiful bags! I use Blackrocks on mine. You could also try Obenaufs and put it out in the sun to help it soak in. I don't know if that would help soften it.

I didn't take before pics. I think I was mentally trying to quickly get rid of the dirtiness. ;) And a current pic doesn't seem accurate. I also got attached (maybe a bit obsessed) with mine. My whole process still has me leery of taking on any future suede rehabs though. Hoping you'll find something that'll work for you!

I bought this bag last week at Savers for $24.50. Whateve kindly authenticated it for me. I had never seen this bag before, and didn't even realize it was a Coach bag at first. It was missing its zipper pull. I considered ordering one from Sceckert, but didn't think the navy they had would match. We have a weird local fabric store in town, and I found a scrap of blue leather and a tiny dog clip and made a zipper pull, at a total cost of 65 cents. I think it turned out pretty good, actually.

Thanks, Beccabaglady. I think the bag photographed very well. . . doesn't show the dinginess. I have brushed it but will give it another once over.

LOL, I thought maybe you were being too hard on yourself. :)
I found ledobe's rehab of the eyelet duffle - she did a fantastic job on it. Here's the first post - it's in the rehab thread that's closed:

This is what gave me the courage to tackle suede. :p

Ledobe is the queen of suede rehab. She almost always throws them in the machine. I think two.time.bags also does a great job using baking soda.

I'm really jealous! I can find the tiny dogleash clips. Now I just have to find a source of pre-cut leather since I'm terrible at cutting it.
