Can any of you nice ladies tell me if you've replaced the turnlock hardware on your vintage bags?
If you have how did it turn out and where did you purchase the hardware to do this?
Thanks so much for the help...........!
Thanks so much crafty.....is this free from Coach?I've done it for two of my vintage bags. You can call Coach and ask for a replacement turnlock. It arrives with instructions. It's pretty simple to do.

Thank you so much for this info......I was going to purchase some replacement hardware and had no idea that Coach would send some for free.Yes, it's free. I don't recall exactly, but I think the only thing they'll ask is what color the hardware on your bag is (brass or silver), though it might be useful to know the style number of your bag just in case.

Leather Refinisher is an acrylic coating, which is why I think it is perfect for her project. It goes on like paint but it will fill in small holes and make it feel smooth.I too wondered what Leather Refinisher was. In my eyes her handles needed more then color, - and my thought was it needed some smoothing of the leather, maybe some coating?
My Blackrocks, ordered from Amazon a couple weeks ago, is like yours Whatever, Indian head and same color. I have used it on several bags, and it didn't change the color ( just brightened the color.) even bags I thought didn't need it, it enhanced the leather and color! I did use it on a light colored handle on a wristlet, and it did give it a slight yellowish tint though.
I wouldn't worry. Many NYC bags have bled copious amounts when I've dunked them. I think in the 90s they changed something to make the dye more colorfast but it is normal for most older bags to stain the water and your hands.Yikes! I just dunked my Navy double kiss lock and tons of dye came out in the cold water! All over my hands, too. Wonder if it had been dyed before. I didn't leave it in very long. Anyone experience this much dye in a bag of this era?
Whew! Thats a relief. Plan for this to be one of my "Happy Hour " bags. Better remember not to spill my Cosmo on it!I wouldn't worry. Many NYC bags have bled copious amounts when I've dunked them. And one more of the inside.
ETA: Stupid sideways iPad posting.
