Berkeley Saddle Bag. The colour is so rich! Just needed a bath, brush and conditioner on the leather.
Seriously gorgeous. I'm afraid of suede. I know anything sticky within a mile would end up stuck to me.

Wow, amazing! You are so resourceful. This would have sat in my too-hard pile forever.Bought some leather braided lacing from my favourite store and some brass ends. I found a leather keeper that I'd salvaged from a trashed vintage Polo Ralph Lauren
I wonder what happened to this bag. Here is another one that needs help: http://www.ebay.com/itm/11145618954...dfe09f8&pid=100353&rk=6&rkt=8&sd=111668146507Very, very discouraged today. My stroll bag with all the splattered stains is not getting any better. I still can not figure out what the stains are, and how in the world could be on both sides of the bag and also some inside, what did they do to this purse? Was it on purpose to damage it?
I tried Dawn soap, saddle soap, Murphy's oil soap, laundry stain remover, rubbing alcohol, acetone, peroxide, talcum powder, cornstarch, hand degreaser (what mechanics use), car degreaser (for different uses on vehicle parts). The only things I have not tried are bleach and vinegar.
I have done it to two spots inside, and wow! I can say with all certainly that the Coach leather is awesome! It doesn't even look damaged after all my tries, not even loss of color, I am amazed. I have it in water now and meanwhile I am learning about dyes.... not happy. I guess it was too good to be true.![]()

If it were mine, I'd try a RIT dye dip. Since it is a light color, it might not cover that well, but it is worth a try and I don't think it would make it any worse. I've done it on several bags. It is difficult getting the color even but I think it might be easier on a structured style like this.I saw the notification....
I wish I could have gotten the one in this listing instead, much, much better.
Mine is in the closet, nothing I tried got rid of the stains, so most likely one day I will sell it like it is. I am not brave enough to dye it myself, the only place I found that might do it is really far away and they want to see it first (understandable), not worth enough the drive and lose of work time for that. I took a gamble and I lost in this one, still is beautiful, the leather is great with no damage other than the stains..![]()
You did a fantastic job on this!!

First I'd try to preserve the color. I think the liquid is easier to use. The leather does end up stiffer afterward but you can condition it. I haven't had a problem with dye transfer but my bags rarely get wet. It never rains in California. You are right, I should at least try. What color would you recommend, trying to match it or changing it to brown, black...? Also the powder or the liquid dye?
I read on their website not to use it on leather, because they put salt in the dye and would dry it, also if it gets wet might transfer, what is your experience after dying your bags?
I always welcome input and advice,![]()
Turquoise leather refinisher vs tourmaline (for whateve before I forget). Interestingly, this shows a lot more green to it than I see with the naked eye, but I took several pix and they all look the same so I think there is more difference than meets the naked eye, if that's possible.

Thank you! Just to be clear, the refinisher is in the background, right? I wonder if it picked up some yellow from the leather underneath? I wouldn't mind if it ended up more green, except I don't want to have to dye the tassels. Ugh, I just ordered a bunch of samples on leather refinisher but this color wasn't one of them. Do you think I could use it diluted with conditioner since the color just needs refreshing over most of it? Now I'm torn over whether refinisher or RIT will give better results.Turquoise leather refinisher vs tourmaline (for whateve before I forget). Ooooh! So pretty! Is the turquoise a piece you dyed?

I got it just now. The postman rang the doorbell because the box was damaged and DH signed for it without inspecting it, but since it was already in bad condition, I don't think the box damage made it any worse. It was wrapped in newspaper with no plastic covering. I can't imagine what would have happened if it had gotten wet (not likely since the seller was in Texas and I'm in California.)
It has faded over a lot of it but the color is still beautiful. It is lighter at the top edge. I don't know why I originally thought this color was too bright for me. Maybe I'll be surprised when I carry it outside. The lining is really clean so I think it was carried by someone who takes good care of her things but she loved it to death.
It's not really that bad but there are large areas that are brownish where the color has worn off. There are a few dark spots but they are on the bottom. For about $100 more, I could have gotten one in perfect condition. I wonder if I'll regret being cheap. I've had a lot of trouble with refinisher on the projects I've used it on. It seemed to work best if I mixed it with a lot of conditioner, just to blend in a little color. If I tried to touch it up with more refinisher, it removed the previous coat. Maybe I'll try RIT overall and then get the refinisher for the tougher areas like the corners.Yes, I got in too deep on a rehab and ended up using leather refinisher on the entire bag. It's more or less finished now I should probably post it.
The refinisher is in the background, that is my tourmaline tech case sitting on top of it. The turquoise is greener than the tourmaline, it just seems like the picture picked up more of the green than you see in real life. It's barely noticeable if you look at them together but it is there so I'm not sure that you'd want to use it in a highly visible spot. I can see using this refinisher on the corners if they're worn, I doubt you'd want to do the entire bag
If it looks like natural wear is it too bad to just call it "distressed" and use it as is? It's not dirty or flaked off?
Don't you have a UV Tanner? I don't think the tourmaline is any brighter than that.I almost wish I had kept the Tourmaline duffle instead of the Molly, the strap length just isn't right for me on the Molly. But I do love the color!
Wow, amazing transformation! I can't believe you got results like that without a bath.Hello ladies, it has been a while since I have visited this thread! I was browsing at my favorite vintage second hand store today and picked up this lovely lady for only $29. She's a 2005 Classic City and overall in great condition, just a little dry and thirsty with some worn spots. No need for a bath but I did condition her with leather CPR and then buffed with Blackrocks. The change was so striking that I just couldn't resist sharing [emoji4] Here are the before and after pics:
